I am trying to find how I can sort lists in the order that I want them. I can sort book marks by dragging and dropping them, but it wouldn't let me do that with my group of lists. Does anyone know if or how this cam be done? Thanks, Rich
Graham, That is the same for me. What I am trying to do is when I am looking at my lists, I want to move list items around...like grab a list and move up or down. Is there any way to do this? As it is now they are sorted by when I add them, but for the purpose I have in mind, I want some list to be listed higher than others because they are more important. Think of browser bookmarks...you can grab a bookmark or a folder and move it somewhere else. Make sense? Thanks, Rich
Richard... lists are ordered alphabetically, so the best I can tell you is number the lists: 01) this is high priority list 02) this is lesser priority 03) this is least ..... xy) this is last list
That way you have some control. It is a messy work around to say the least, especially if you want to create a new list that is inserted. Then you will be forced to do something like 02-1) and 02-2) or be forced to renumber all the list items underneath.
Best solution I can think of. Anything more elegant would have to be developed by Diigo.
Scott, if there is no way to move things around easily, then I guess your workaround would be better than nothing. My idea was to try and think ahead of how I would want it listed, but I knew there was no way it would work because I know it would be changing constantly. Thanks for the tip, I think that shall work well enough Rich

Perfect sense.
Question 1: is your wish to raise the level of a list:
Question 3: if Diigo searches could somehow increase the presence of your favourite lists, for you and for other viewers, would that be *more* or *less* welcome than a manually sorted list of lists?
Regards Graham
--- Postcript: FAYT (find as you type) (find-as-you-type) search would be great but such things place surprisingly great load on servers.
Question 4: re http://www.diigo.com/dashboard/ if to your dashboard you could add a few of your favourite lists, would that be more, or less, welcome than a manually sorted list of lists?
(Et cetera, I'm trying to step back and visualise whether the list of lists is *truly* the most suitable place for you to prioritise (raise the level) of some thing(s).)
Graham, The order of the lists of lists would be for everyone, including myself. I will be adding new list in the future and don't know what they will be or where I want them ranked. So far, Scott has offered the best solution which is to place numbers before them. It would be nice if I could grab and move lists around like I can with bookmark links. Rich
Thanks,
Rich
I find the opposite;
* 'My Bookmarks' is a fixed order, by date, most recent at the head of the first page
* within any list: a bookmark can be dragged and dropped, nudged one step up or down, nudged all the way to top or bottom.

Graham
Thanks,
Rich
01) this is high priority list
02) this is lesser priority
03) this is least
.....
xy) this is last list

OK: the list of lists ('My Lists').
> As it is now they are sorted by when I add them
My list of lists is fixed order, but not by date; mine is alphabetical:
http://www.diigo.com/list/grahamperrin
and my view of yours
http://www.diigo.com/list/Richbernier is similarly alphabetical (currently beginning with 01, ending with Library…).

Perfect sense.
Question 1: is your wish to raise the level of a list:
* for you
or
* for other viewers of your list of lists
or
* for all?
Question 2: if at http://www.diigo.com/profile/richbernier you could present one, two, maybe three of your favourite lists, would that come close to your wish?
Question 3: if Diigo searches could somehow increase the presence of your favourite lists, for you and for other viewers, would that be *more* or *less* welcome than a manually sorted list of lists?

Graham
