My wife and I love having Best Bamboo Cheese Board and wine dates!! We usually cut up some cheese and put it on an ugly plastic board. This works great for us but looks kinda tacky when we have guests. So as we are getting into the busy football season and we have a lot of friends come over, I wanted something that looked a little more attractive. So I purchased this set! The set is a nice 13×13 cutting board with a built-in hidden cabinet for utensils. The utensils are a fork, a knife, a flat edge knife, and a sharp spatula. Each one of them is very sharp and can easily cut through hard cheese like cheddar. They all have a nice comfortable bamboo handle. The bottom part of the cutting board has a nice grippy bottom too, this will prevent sliding around and will allow the drawer to slide out smoothly.

With its evidence room overflowing with cell phones, the Richmond County school board is wanting to give away what it has taken 15 years to collect. The board decided to give the phones back to students when it changed its policy for cell phones in June. The policy replaces the often-criticized rule to seize phones for 365 calendar days when a pupil is caught with one. In 15 years, 5,725 phones were taken from students, according to the public safety department. Of those, 4,566 were still being held by the department this summer. Under the new rules, a parent has 10 days to claim a phone before it is turned in to public safety on the first offense. For a second offense and any phones not claimed at the school on the first offense, public safety takes the phone for 30 days.

Medford School District takes Cyberbullying seriously. In a new update to their board policy, students who use text messages or e-mails to harass schoolmates could lose their driver's licenses. Apparently, this policy has also been used for chronic truancy offenses. Prior to this new update, the school board policy on cyberbullying was already one that strongly articulated zero-tolerance for bullying in cyberspace.

On June 30th, Missouri governor, Matt Blunt, signed a bill updating state laws against harassment by removing the requirement in the legislation requiring that such harassing communication be written or made over the telephone. Now, harassment from computers, text messages and other electronic devices may also be considered illegal. The amended law also requires school boards to create a written policy requiring schools to report harassment and stalking committed on school property to local police, including such done via the Internet.

Teachers and students in Lamar County, Mississippi, can't be Internet friends this year after the School Board revamped rules prohibiting them from being friends through online social networks.

Designed for non-techies, this excellent presentation by Melanie McBride provides an introductory overview of web2.0 social media tools and trends. It also concerns challenges unique to school boards, their members and the communities they serve.

This WebQuest was designed for 5th - 8th grade students. It could be used as part of a technology class, home room, or social studies class. Cyberbullying is a growing issue in schools. By helping students research the issues around cyberbullying, the process alone it will raise awareness levels. Student recommendation from this WebQuest should be taken to the School Board. Students need to know that voice will be heard. Policy or handbook changes they recommend can actually be done.
