まず1つめは、USIMカードがiPhone専用になる点だ。機種変更や増設をするユーザーは、iPhone 3G専用のUSIMカードに切り替える必要があり、切り替えてしまうとiPhone 3G以外の端末では使えなくなってしまう。つまり気分や目的に応じて、iPhoneに機種変更する前の端末を取っておいて、USIMカードを差し込んだとしても、ケータイの電波を拾うことはかなわない。SoftBankのXシリーズのような他のスマートフォンはそのまま使えるため、ちょっと不便になるかもしれない。
