Time Tracker (SCS Lifelong Learning Now!) - 0 views

This is an interesting feature. Could you expound on this area?

Thanks, Mary. This website was setup using the 'project team' template. I choose it because this group of learners has been developed through projects (situated learning using constructivist strategies), and the project environment with deadlines, outcome statements, etc. is familiar and business oriented. The time tracker is an alternative to a calendar, and allows the learners to post their individual triad projects and deadlines, and have a central place to look and see when what is due. Hope that makes sense.

Hi, It appears that you want to create an effective, collaborative learning environment which is conducive for a Constructivist-oriented class.
    • tucsonconroy Betsy Conroy

Yes, that is my goal. The group has bonded in the F2F classroom environment. I want them to continue their learning with and from one another. In this economic environment we can't afford to take the learners away from work for learning; the digital environment is perfect and something with which this group is familiar (using our LMS). This site is intended to take them to the next level of digital savviness and collaboration.

Project Proposal - Purpose, Objectives, Activities, Deliverables (SCS Lifelong Learning... - 0 views

Hi, Again, great usage of the space, detailed information about what the learners will use, learn, and create. I find this page, in reference to the requirements, quite informative. The objectives are aligned specifically with the assignments. There is also a purpose given which I feel is important for any course that wishes to engage its students.

Thanks, again Mary. I was a little concerned that I put the project proposal on one page. I was trying to serve two masters: the educational evaluators (us) and the learners (supervisors in an organization who expect business statements). I agree the statement of purpose is important. If I can't articulate this from the get-go, I will be confused and so will my learners.

I personally like how you have made your content very distinct. You also guide your learners through an easy process of becoming socially networked

I might make this more than one page. It seems a bit overwhelming at first glance.

These are great activities to help folks learn about collaborative and NLE.

How do these activities all relate together--for the learner. Looks like a lot to do.....do they understand what all of the accounts are for? And how they relate to NLE?

Hello Doug, I really enjoyed your unit/site. I love the idea of using network learning to assist teachers in learning about network learning and integrating it into their curricula. I particularly liked your strategy of asking teachers to think about how they currently use technology for learning (prior knowledge), before introducing new technologies. Referencing prior knowledge before introducing new concepts is an excellent adult learning strategy. I also like using iGoogle to create a class NLE and giving all classmembers the same login and password. Another aspect that I think it great is that you included the NAU ETC link in your profile; this will lead teachers to more information about technology integration. Outstanding! I will post further feedback on content, integrated technologies, instructional technologies and evaluations -- one post for each of these 4 areas.

Hi Doug, the content of this unit supports organizational learning network environment. The Web 2.0 tools you integrated into the lesson plans are feasible and enable group collaboration. I believe we had to include 4 components of technology integration. I only see two (iGoogle and Weblog). Your unit integrates Constructivism instructional strategies. The teachers will have an understanding of technology integration in the classroom and its importance.

I enjoyed reading your personal introduction page; very informative. Having a link to the Poll was a great idea. Also, the link to your school website was a great way to get to know more about your organization. Great job!

Wow! I could really use something like this to stay organized. I work from home on the internet and it is amazing how time flies. Before I know it the day is gone and I'm crawling into bed at midnight with 10 things left undone on that "to do" list scribbled on a scrap of paper somewhere on my desk.

Fascinating and somewhat disturbing at the same time. Could this have been the attraction to Marx's communist manifesto? A connectivist way of thinking? Enjoy more while owning less?? Is this a clue to the mindset of the next generation? No responsibility of ownership but full enjoyment of tangible 'things' can still be had. Hmm... what do you think?

Don't miss this idea for teaching ANY subject. Students could work in groups to create the collage which would be linked to appropriate web sites, youtubes, etc. If you build it, they will learn!
