I have noticed that sticky notes can not be edited once they are created, but in Diigo v2 it was possible. Maybe a bug ?

As edit sticky notes is rarely used, we remove this feature in V3 in order to make the toolbar lighter.

    Hi Joel,

I literally signed up for Diigo just for this feature. Can it be readded ? Can I install V2 instead ?

    Thanks,

I agree. I'd at least like the ability to delete sticky notes from within the page, so you could copy the contents of the note, delete the original note, then paste the contents into a new note and edit from there.

It would be great if this could be added again in some future release, perhaps as an optional feature?

    Thanks,
    Anton.

If edit is really necessary for now, copy, delete, then repost.

Thanks Maggie - that works fine to be honest.

Yes. we constantly have to juggle features vs. performance. In our opinion, unless a feature really impacts majority of users, performance consideration should have substantially higher priority.

Of course, we also constantly challenging ourselves to push the technical limit and to think outside of the box. Diigo is continuing to evolve quickly. We will do our parts to make Diigo the very best in its class - if you're a diigo fan - we need your help - pls do your part to help us spread the words! Thanks!

I was hoping to use these stickies as a development tool thus copy and paste is a little impractical for my needs.

I do of course appreciate your work on this. Some other nice features for the stickies would be an option to have them display opened on the page. Also a resizable sticky would be nice!

    Thanks!

I do so fairly frequently, when I realise mistakes in my notes.

Edition of sticky notes has been requested in two or three other more recent (duplicate) topics.

As a compromise, to reduce the likelihood of mistakes that require correction, how about a preview feature?

I REALLY hope you are able to put the edit back! Even though it might not be among the most used features, I believe it is quite essential in for a note-taking tool to allow editing the notes in an easy way!

Besides, removing already introduced features doesn't sound like a good idea in general...

I would really have to agree with Roar on this one. If I create a personal note using Diigo messages (not the highlight/comment combo), it allows me to edit a note there.

I do understand there are two things going against making page comment or highlight/comment editing a reality 1) Diigo has higher priority items they need to focus on right now and 2) there are work arounds to the issue, but I am not sure I would classify the need to edit notes as an undesirable or unimportant. Humans are imperfect after all. It is a bit like a pencil manufacturer saying you don't need an eraser, just do a better job writing you text in the first place.

    Thanks for everyone feedback.

Indeed we have lot more high priority tasks on hand. When it comes to feature development & effective resource allocation - between "must-have" vs. "nice-to-have" ~ often a "trade-off" depending on our task / timing priorities.

Diigo team is working hard. Stay tuned as we continue to evolve.
