    = Bug =

    Recommended tags do not appear.

    = Reference =

    http://help.diigo.com/How-To_Guide/Groups#Group_Tag_Dictionary

    = Environment =

    * Firefox 3.0.3
    * Mac OS X 10.5.5

    * presumably: some expressions in the dictionary for this group

    * certainly: five expressions in the dictionary at http://groups.diigo.com/tag_mana/group_tag_dict?group_name=orcrilin

    Update: at the time of writing,

    * suggestions from the Group Tag Dictionary for a private group _do_ appear in the bookmark dialogue of Diigo 3.1.6.4 in Firefox 3.0.3

    (a fix? If so, my thanks :)

    * suggestions do _not_ appear when (for the same URL, aiming for the same group) I use the bookmark dialogue of Diigolet in Safari.

    Now using Diigo 3.1.6.5 in Firefox 3.0.4, again I find that entries from the group tag dictionary are not suggested for bookmarks for pages such as
    http://groups.google.com/group/macfuse/browse_thread/thread/10c88fb6267fddf0

    The bookmark is shared with http://groups.diigo.com/groups/macfusion and the group tag dictionary was only recently updated.

    Please, does it take some time before additions to the dictionary become effective?

    It works for me in FF 3.0.4. See my email to you. I will update to 3.0.4 and try it again.

    It works in 3.0.4 in my testing. Tell me more about the problem.

    Hi Joel

    Thanks for your e-mail and screen shot.

    For the same bookmark that you demonstrated, as a member of the same group:

    * not working in Diigo 3.1.6.5 added to Firefox 3.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.5.5:

    Postscript: the 'Recommended tags:' section is present, with recommendations, but the 'Group tags dictionary:' is entirely missing.

    CURSE the forum HTML gone wrong again!

    Group dictionary will show up after you select "sharing to a group".

    We will release a new IE toolbar with better group tag dictionary support tomorrow.

    I have screen shots on ImageShack demonstrating that in at least three cases, for me, the 'Recommended tags:' section is present, with recommendations, but the 'Group tags dictionary:' is entirely missing.

    Missing whilst using:

    * Diigo 3.1.6.5 added to Firefox 3.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.5.5
    * Diigo 3.1.6.5 added to Firefox 3.0.4 on Widows XP
    * Diigo 3.1.4 in IE 7 on Windows XP.

    There's a fourth case, Diigolet, which is (to me) of greater importance but I understand that attention to the toolbar variants may take priority.

    Kind regards
    Graham

    It seems rails autolink method mis-autolinks the link in alt property. 【alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" 】:(. We've considered using TinyMCE in the forum, but it's too heavy for the simple forum.

    Messages crossed paths. Thanks Joel.

    Incidentally (a separate thread?) the *recommended* tags are different in one of the three screen shots on ImageShack.

    Thanks!

    I see that the bookmark edit dialogue in Firefox (but not in Diigolet) expresses the group(s) with which the bookmark is shared.

    Is it possible to improve the edit dialogue, in Diigo for Firefox, maybe to default to selecting the primary group? So that the dictionary becomes more apparent?

    Personally, I should prefer to have an enhanced dialogue when I click 'Edit' for my bookmarks in http://groups.diigo.com/collaboration/bookmark and in other groups. There's much tidying to be done of bookmarks that have been created using Diigolet ;)

    Again, thanks for attention to so many issues.

    Best regards
    Graham

    I am still not sure after selecting "sharing to a group", did you get the group tag dictionary in FF?

    【edit】Saw your #13 post just now.

    presents an interesting variation on this theme.

    If (following Nate's mock-up) (or following something equally good in Diigolet) I select multiple groups at time of bookmarking - or if the dialogue shows me that something is already present in multiple groups - then I would probably:

    * defer the multiple tasks of tagging according to the dictionaries of each groups.

    There's the temptation to extend the UI, maybe add more layers to accommodate the tag dictionaries, but with an eye on http://message.diigo.com/message/brainstorming-session-diigo-iphone-mobile-275857 and simplicity I would tend towards deferral.

    Other people may positively prefer to be guided to completing all annotations, tagging etc. in one single round of actions/operations.
