I'm learning more about dreams right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: What types of dreams are there. I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because this news item contains the answers to my question. It explains well the types of dreams there are and why we dream that dream. "What does it mean when you falling in a dream? What does it mean when your dream takes place in your own home or apartment? What does it mean when you fly in your dreams?" The quote I chose here is basically giving some examples of the types of dreams there are. I have dreamed about some of those before and some were frightening and some were happy and pleasant.

I'm learning more about gangs right now, and in particular what i am wondering is: Why do teenage girls want to join gangs? I was researching online, and this new item caught my attention because I myself hate gangs and the thought of a young girl interacting with gangs i wrong. She gave up her childhood just to be cool. "Teenage girls wanting to join violent male gangs are being forced into having sex and ferrying guns, knives and drugs, police and charities have found." Young teenage girls want to join gangs for what and at what cost? These days girls and boys would do anything to be down with the people. Today's world is going crazy, Kids needs to stop trying to be down and finish school. I think this is all pointless because all gangs are good for is learning how to shoot and kill someone. That is what you wanna do then you join the army.

Well, I'm not saying that I like the situation, but instead that the article caught my interests. I never would have thought girls would join gangs especially for a silly reason such as protection. It makes me disgusted knowing that the gangs take advantage of them and treat them like the inferior group even when they are transporting their guns and supplies. Disturbing!

I'm learning more about 2012 right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Should we as a society, put our beliefs into Mayan predictions, or should we believe Scientists just because they have information to back up their facts?I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it speaks about the reality of science and whether or not we should believe in it. It also speaks about the Mayan calender. This specific source sparked my interest because lately, with Hollywood coming out with new movies about 2012, the thought of the world coming to end has constantly been bothering me. I had a strong urge to find out the truth. "The Mayan calendar does not end in December 2012. Just as the calendar you have on your kitchen wall does not cease to exist after December 31, the Mayan calendar does not cease to exist on December 21, 2012. This date is the end of the Mayan long-count period, but then - just as your calendar begins again on January 1 - another long-count period begins for the Mayan calendar." The quote I chose here basically tries to persuade us by saying that the Mayan Calender ending on the year 2012 is a hoax. The author of this posts believes that even after the calender ends, just like any of the calenders that we have at home, it will start itself new again. I think this is very captivating because it makes me really wonder. It makes me wonder about all remarks people are making, what society thinks about this, and if there are any evidence that are being hidden from society. I hope as we go further into the years, scientists will dig out more information to support the theory so when the day comes, I won't have to hide under my bed and panic.

It seems as if people are using the Mayan's predictions as an excuse to declare the end of the world, which is on December 21, 2012. Lately, I've been doing a lot of research on 2012, after watching the movie, and what I've dug out was that the Mayans didn't say anything about the end of the world. Their predictions simply stated that it December 21, 2012 was the end of their calender. The Mayans, who have been accurate in their past predictions, believe strongly on the the worlds cycle. They beileve that just like any other calender, after one ends, another begins. Society has been brain washed by media's attempt to brain wash us by using Mayan predictions and scrambling them up to scare us. I'm actually very glad that I did research, or else I would've fallen into the same category as everyone else.

I'm learning more about marijuana right now, and what I'm wondering about is that if marijuana was legalized the economy might not be as bad at it is now. i was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it told me somthing i was not aware of befor reading this post. "How legalization would help the economy: [More...] Alcohol is a $131 billion industry and marijuana is projected at $113 billion, which I think is conservative. Just like with alcohol, we would need people to produce the raw product, we would need truck drivers to drive it from one place to another. There are so many jobs. I'm starting to get calls from all of these lobbyist sharks. They're seeing it's a business." the quote i chose here is basically saying that the selling of marijuana makes alot of money if it was an actually job thats easy money for the economy.

what I noticed most about the Main street flushing pimp is that he really made a name for him self out on the street and people realy miss him being out on the street. If you go out on main street and ask just about eny one if they have ever seen him chansis are they have. I love you're Mapping Mainstreet Podcast. At first, I assumed it would be boring.. another podcast? But I had high expectations because you guys were the ones doing this project. It wasn't boring and caught my interest through out the podcast. I find it interesting that steam buns are shaped after human heads because they use it as sacrifice..I think I've lost my appetite..for now. The steam buns are great because it's cheap and although it's not healthy, it's better than a happy meal, especially when you're on the go. But it's still counted as fast food because it's when you need something on the go. Also, when I buy it, it's usually filled with like.. oil, more bread, and less meat. But it doesn't matter when you're really hungry. Yes, definitely, when food is homemade, you're in control of what is getting put inside. For example, sometimes when my mom buys food from Flushing, I'm really skeptical. I'm guarded when I eat these things.. and you don't want to hear about the incidents that occurred before... :shivers:. I love it when my mom makes homemade food. Did you know AA plaza also makes dumplings? I hate it. I sometimes find weird ingredients in it and I'm like "what the crap am I eating?!?!" But when my mom makes it, I make sure to ask her to put my favorite ingredients! I liked the pictures you took of Flushing because those are the places we see in our daily lives...I bet all of us pass that place at least once, every day. I do agree with you Alexis, on how a steam bun is like a world that connects everyone. I loved how you guys actually made steam buns. Were they edible? Teach me how to make it next time!!

I agree sometimes I find that poscasts are really boring and blah. This one was exciting and fun. I really could relate to this podcast because I too eat steamed buns fairly often.

Im learning more about college basketball and basketball in general, and what i am particulary wondering about is how different was the sport then (in 1891) to now. I was reasearching this question online and this blog post caught my attension because it explains the history of the game. "After rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules and nailed a peach basket onto a 10-foot (3.05 m) elevated track. In contrast with modern basketball nets, this peach basket retained its bottom, so balls scored into the basket had to be poked out with a long dowel each time. A soccer ball was used to shoot goals. Whenever a person got it in the basket, they would give their team a point. Whoever got the most points, they would win the game.[2]" The quote I chose here is showing how the game evolved over many years. When the game was first created the basket was very different from the ones we have today, along with the basketball and some of the rules. Now everything is completly different but for the better. There are gyms, parks, rec centers a lot of different places all over the world where people can play the game for fun of try to actually make it a career. Before it was just something to do to get kids off the streets, now it has perks. Scholarships are given out, and many are getting paid millions of dollars to play the game. I think this is a perfect blog about the game then and now because a lot of people can really learn from this. It makes me wonder if people really know the complete history behind the sport even college and NBA players.

I'm learning more about college basketball, and how and when it was created. What i am really interested in knowing more about is, what made James Naismith (the founder of the game) come up with such an idea? What made him decide one day to take a basket and throw something inside of it and make it a big sport. I decided to research my questions online and this one article in the NY Times caught my attention because it explained why he created the game. I chose the article i did because, what better way to find out more about the game then finding out more about the person that started it. "James Naismith and his wife, Maude, practicing basketball, a game he invented in 1891 as a way to keep rowdy students busy during winter." The quote i chose above basically is explaining James Naismith's reason for creating the sport and who he created it for. He wanted to get the kids that had nothing to do and were going down bad roads to discover the game and get interested in it. Over a winter break or a vacation instead of doing something destructive, they could go and play this sport. I think this is perfect because the game was invented in 1891 and still exists in 2009. It is my favorite sport and has changed a lot over time. It went from using an actual peach basket with no hole in the bottom to having metal rims with nets. The game has evolved into something great and with never go away.

I'm learning more about healthy food right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is what are the best food in the airplane? I was researching this question online, and this news article caught my attention because it was a survey about rating foods for eight airlines. "The survey assigned a "Health Score" based on snack and on-board food service offerings, airline cooperation, comments, ratings, cost, calories, and exercise equivalents. " The quote I chose here is basically saying that by reading over the survey, we know that which airline has the best food in the airplane.
