"Many times, as you listen, it is difficult to control you emotional responses to the speaker's message. Each of us has a list of words that trigger emotional responses - whether positive or negative. At times you will need to separate facts from the opinions of those who are speaking to you. This is called critical listening." I think it's very true that we need to " separate facts from the opinions of those who are speaking to " or "evaluate each message by deciding what is fact and what is opinion." However, when things happen, it's always hard to do. We are habitual putting our own opinions into facts when other people are speaking us. I think we haven't realized this problem or we don't see any problem with doing this. Yet, inserting our own opinions into the real facts may twists the truth, or even bring trouble to people or ourselves. Maybe I'm just exaggerating it, yet my experience told me we better realize this issue and try to change this bad habit.

The podcast, "Searching For Flushing Main Street's Pimp", caught me by surprise. I thought the Flushing Pimp had been killed by another person. I had heard he died, but I wasn't sure how until now. I expected it the information to be on the internet by now, but I guess a primary source is the best way to gather information. When the podcasters found out that they were on to something, I thought they did a good job in expressing their reactions when they discovered something new. The main part was when they found out that someone from their school actually knew the pimp since he lived in the same apartment that she did. I thought this was a fairly lucky find. Another part that stood out to me was in the beginning of the podcast when one of them said, "I don't think he's a pimp.", because I thought the same thing. I think they only called him a pimp because he dressed like one. In the end, I discovered he wasn't really a pimp after all. It was fairly well edited, and I thank you for sharing your podcast. I think there have been a few clips at least instead of just images of the pimp.

I've seen him on the street very often for the pass three years but I just realized that he's not around here anymore. I used to see him all the time on Main street and he's always talking to himself.

I agree with you Masaki, This post caught me by surprise too. I really didn't know that a person with so much going on in his body could continue to move on, Many people with those type of problems would lay down and accept defeat but he continued to move on and dress good. Although many people laughed at him or talked about him he continued to do what he does. That is what i call determaination

I'm learning more about dreams right now and in particular what I'm wondering about is why do we have nightmares. I was researching this question online and this blog post caught my attention because this blog has all the answers to my question. "Stress is another factor, which triggers nightmares. When a person is in extreme stress, he/she may get nightmares. In scientific terms, it is a way to release all the stress." The quote I chose here is basically saying that stress is one cause to having nightmares. And when you have the nightmare, its a way to get rid of all the stress you have. I think thats true because I remember me having a couple of nightmares before and what I was dreaming about was about what I was stressing about. I was very stressed about the SAT and I was dreaming about the SAT. It wasnt such a good dream.

I'm learning more about trust right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How are trustworthy people identified? I was researching this question online, and this poem caught my attention because it discusses other factors of a relationships that intertwine with trust. "So, when I put all of my trust deep within you Please don't tell me you love me, unless you truly do." The quote I chose here is basically saying that when you learn to trust someone, you expect the same thing back. With trust, you expect to gain true love as well. When people learn to trust another, they want something in a form of a reward. I think this is accurate because when many people commit to something and spend their time, learning to do something, they want something in return. It makes me wonder if a person finally learns to build trust in someone, will they ever be able to trust again if they're betrayed?

I'm learning more about synastry right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How accurate is it? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it actually focuses on two real, well-known, people. "The patnership works best when they pursue goals with passionate commitment. Obviously there is the need to be aware that this can be a difficult contact and they have had their fair share of psychic conflicts that can at times spill out into violence of some sort. The quote I chose here is basically saying that because of their synastry the two celebrities blend well. Also, their personalities tend to make them work together more. I think this is great support in favor of my topic because it focuses on real people providing an accurate example. It makes me wonder if I'll find more articles like this. I hope so. I kind of want to change my question. I can't find enough news articles on the topic.

I'm learning more about smoking right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: What are the effects of smoking on you? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because of the title. In the blog post, it lists 5 reasons to stop smoking. It lists 5 effects of smoking on smokers. This quote from the post caught my attention: "Every smoker knows that smoking can cause cancer and heart disease. Other effects of smoking on mind and body are less well-publicised but can be equally disastrous." What this quote is saying is very true. When you ask a person what can happen to you when you smoke, they would be like cancer. But no, there are much more disasters to you and the body. This is very important.

I'm learning more about zodiac signs right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: "How much of your personality is defined through your zodiac sign?" I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it talks about how horoscopes can benefit your love life if you allow yourself to go to an astrologist before you propose or take your relationship to the next level to find out your compatibility. "Millions of people read horoscope on daily basis however they don't believe but they want to take review at least and finding the way that there is some thing good for them over there and what will be prohibited on specific time including me." The quote I chose here is basically saying that even though people barely believe in horoscopes, they still read them daily to see the successes that are going to be coming into their lives. I think this is interesting because it means that people still have some hope in horoscopes and look forward to them in some way. It makes me wonder if people would believe it if their horoscopes had something bad in store for them.

I'm learning more about College basketball, and basketball skills. In particular what I'm wondering about is, if I would have learned these skills and have been playing basketball since 9th grade would i be ready to go to the college level? I was researching this question online, and this blog post caught my attention because it breaks down all of the skills a player must have to be great at his/her game. I went to this article because these are things i would like to know because i want my game to be at the highest level possible. "Vision is communication". The quote I chose here is saying vision is very important on the court. It is probably the most important because you play better when you see everything and can read what the deffence/ offence is doing. Also when your on offence and your a person that likes to throw passes and fill up the asists stat vision is very important. You want to throw the deffence off by throwing no look passes and ally oops, you can only do that with court vision.

this is my favroite podcast of all. because i been playing this game for a week and yes indeed i agree is highly addictive. is way too good i cant get it off my mind. i cant really do my home work because i keep on playing this game however now i try to keep my balance between these games i try to be better at studying and playing the game at the same time hopefully i wont be one of those guys who play games all day well i mean i wont play games all day to turn into one of those because i know that plying mmorpg game is an orpg game and i play like crazy so hopefully i will stop playing because i do feel that i pay too much warcraft even though is jsut my forst week. is amazingly addictive and i regret buying the game because now i'm additected to the game hopefully i can be off the game soon well not completely off the game like remeber to play and study but not to remind myself to play everyday. is a great game im a current warlock who kills moster who are higher than my level. i soon have to take math b in jan and i need to start study soon so im goign to be studying and playing at the same time i though that this is a way to improve myself to be a better person and move foward because i know that i have to learn more knowledge each day in order to be a better human being i'm going to try and learn more everyday along with balanceing the games in so mixture of both would be a great combnation studying while playing games. thank you for looking at my thing because this is probally the one podcast that i like the most and it made me reliaard how hard i fell into teh game on the first week.

I'm learning more about trust right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: How are trustworthy people identified? I was researching this question online, and this poem caught my attention because it questions on how to be able to trust someone. Who can you trust completely With all that you possess; " The quote I chose here is basically saying how when someone has so many secrets to hide how are they able to build trust in their relationships. Trust involves being able to depend on the other and being able to tell the other person everything. I think this interesting because with building trust, you can't keep secrets. It makes me wonder if trust can still be built without telling every single secret to your other. I mean you shouldn't keep secrets or hide anything, just be open and not suspicious.

Have you ever felt like you need to go shopping and shopping everyday until you brought everything you wanted? Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been Shopaholics. I remember seeing this movie last year that made me wonder about people who are Shopaholics. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that being Shopaholic is really bad because it damages your living style. From what I have heard, being Shopaholic isn't something bad. It's just a way of being. You just shop and shop. It's not like if you creating a crime. I know that it's like a sickness that can't make you stop. But if it's really affecting your life then you have to give that up. For example, I heard that Shopaholic is more like able to be out of control. Shopping does not only effect the shopper it also effects family members, spouses, loved ones and friends. Many times married over active spenders will be divorced and in debt before they can control their spending habits. Now that's just what I've heard, it may or may not be true. One thing that I know for sure about is that Shopaholics do suffer a lot when it comes to money. Many Shopaholics end up having a big amount of budget. And I also know that Compulsive shopping is a serious condition that affects thousands of people's lives in America. Another fact that I know is that one major key to successfully overcoming compulsive shopping is simply taking responsibility for ones own actions. Stop denying the problem and or blaming others. Shopaholics who truly want help need to say enough is enough. Once a shopaholic realizes that shopping is just not worth the troubles that are caused from shopping excessively things get much easier. Make the decision to change and change will come. Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been Alcohol. I remember my Uncle drinking Beer at a party. And I remember him telling people that Beer is the best thing to drink. At that time, I didn't know what he meant by that. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that Alcohol is not really bad for men and women. From what I have heard, Alcohol is bad for people.For example, I heard that alcohol damages your body and brain. Now that's just what I've heard, it may or may not be true. One thing that I know for sure about Alcohol is that it's really harmful for Teenagers. Now I've studied my share of Medicine, and I believe that Alcohol is bad for everyone that drinks it every day in their life. It affects their brain and body. I also know that if your drink a lot of alcohol like beer, you have a great possibility of getting fat. And this is true because my Uncle got fat throughout time. And Why? Because he kept drinking beer. Personally, it's funny to me how people know the effects on alcohol and they keep on consuming it. Only 26 percent favor on keeping the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) system. Even the President of our nation, Barack Obama favors a playoff system in college football. This issue was even involved in the U.S. Congress. The House was planning on passing a legislation to remove the current BCS system and implement a playoffs to decide a National Champion. However, 48 percent of the fans do not think it's a good idea for Congress to get involved with this, while 45 percent do. The Congress hasn't done anything yet. I personally believe that the Congress should stay out of this and worry about much more important government issues
