    Thank you Ruth! This article is just about what I am trying to do with my students for years! This is very motivating! I found out last year that linking evaluating and citing sources is a good think to keep students focused: they search the author, publisher etc... and evaluate at the same time. You can read my blog post http://www.coetail.asia/amthinnes/ "changing the way we are teaching" (Sorry, the blog is difficult to read... getting better every week...) , for more info about it. The link I used so far is not bad from 9 grade, but too difficult for the younger children. If you have a better one, let me know! Anyway, it is great to know that we are at the same page....       Writing isn't a solitary act and reading is a social event. Books will be interactive and multimedia. Teachers will have to help students do this.
