You know those alien languages you hear in the movies and ever wondered who comes up with them? Well, this article talked about Sara Maria Forsberg, a high school graduate who today is 23 years old. She went viral on the internet for her video "what languages sound like to other people around the world." People were wondering how she did that with accuracy. So, Star Wars the Force Awakens contacted her and asked if she could make up an alien language for their movie. She said sure and asked what languages were going to inspire this alien language. They told her so she listened to tapes of Austronesian languages including Bahasa Indonesia and Sundanese. She writes down repeated sounds, words, and the rhythm of the language. To her, listening to other languages are like music she said. She then sees how those words are used in the real language to determine meaning and emotion to the words that she will create. So she basically wrote a guide on how to come up with gibberish language and that the key is to be a really good listener to when it comes to syllables and sounds.
