CoFFEE is complemented by pedagogical scenarii - customisable lesson plans that are written by the projects researchers. These scenarii offer a good starting point for teachers who want to start using CoFFEE. They include both files that teachers can plug into CoFFEE to run a lesson plan, as well as a written step-by-step lesson plan instructing the teacher on all the relevant aspects of running a CoFFEE supported classroom activity.

"Chris Dede, a professor of learning technology at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, is a leading authority on online teacher professional development. For 16 years, beginning in the early 1990s, Dede taught a course at HGSE called "Learning Media That Bridge Distance and Time." The rapid changes in interactive technology during that period brought the potential of online teacher learning into sharp focus for Dede. "I saw it as an important way of scaling up quality instructional practice, and an important lever for education reform, but also I saw that it wasn't going far very fast," he explains. Successful teachers know how useful graphic organizers are in every subject. Now you can edit your graphic organizers before you print them out! This is a great tool for creating example worksheets for your class; you can fill out an entire graphic organizer to use as an example or answer key, or you can just fill in a few of the blanks to get your students started. Or, have your students fill out each graphic organizer on their own computer, making unreadable handwriting a problem of the past. Feel free to customize these printable graphic organizers to fit your needs and your classroom instruction.

The 2007 PSSA Reading, Mathematics, and Writing Item and Scoring Samplers are tools to assist you with your instructional program and the reading, mathematics, and writing assessments. The samplers include test items written to focus on the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for writing and the Pennsylvania Assessment Anchor Content Standards (Assessment Anchors) for reading and mathematics. The items in the samplers will not appear on any operational form of the 2007 PSSA: however, they do provide examples of the types of items that will appear on the 2007 reading, mathematics, and writing assessments.

This collection of reviewed resources from TeachersFirst is selected to help teachers, parents, and students understand concepts of copyright and Fair Use.  This collection includes instructional activities about copyright and collections/tools to use images, music, and texts legally, either through Fair Use or Creative Commons licensing. Use these resources to model and teach ethical use of electronic media or to find copyright-safe raw materials for student projects. Be sure to share these resources with students for them to access any time they have a project to do.
