The Copyright Alliance Education Foundation is the 501(c)3 non-profit charitable arm of the Copyright Alliance dedicated to developing educational programs aimed at helping America's next generation of creators succeed. The Foundation develops and implements educational projects designed to meet two goals: 1. Help maintain a copyright-aware environment in the nation's classrooms to ensure creators' long-term ability to thrive; and 2. Provide educational resources to future creators.

The George Lucas Educational Foundation launched Edutopia in the hopes of creating educational best practices for multimedia in the classroom. The site includes online polls, curated blogs, assessment tools and a dedicated magazine for educators at the K-12 levels. The 2009 Webby Award winning site's best content is in its library of high-production videos for teachers and educators.

At Google, we support the education of families on how to stay safe online. The Center for Social Media in the School of Communication at American University, the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property in American University Washington College of Law, and the Media Education Lab of Temple University are conducting a project 2007-2009 to clarify fair use in media education, with support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. This project will help media literacy educators understand their rights under the doctrine of fair use in order to help them more effectively use media as an essential part of their teaching.

Langwitches has done a great job in coming up with a  list of great educational iPad apps organized into categories with different headings. The only thing that is missing in his work and which if he had paid attention to would have made his work even  way greater is to make the app images clickable. Instead of clicking on any app name to access it you will have to type its name in Google or iTunes store to find it.

Edmodo is a private micro-blogging service for schools that allows teachers to edit privacy options within their virtual classrooms. Educators generate a join code and students log-in to chat, link to files, share notes and check their collective calendars for upcoming exams, quizzes and Pro-D days. While some of the other tools we've presented offer an open-access learning environment, this invite-only service offers students the chance to utilize web-based multimedia tools while allowing teachers to control an online discussion's security.
