This site answers your most basic and simple beginner questions such as, "What Does HTML stand for"? If you have no experience building web pages this site will be a helpful start.

This is a clear and simple introduction for newbies like me. I'm willing to learn from any source possible. So the more intros I get, the better.

I came across this site dealing with HTML through Google. Browsing through, I found it to be great, even for myself, a stone cold beginner to this stuff. It's pretty much a complete tutorial regarding HTML starting from the most basic parts all the way to the advanced material and know-how. In the page itself you will see [Previous] and [Next] buttons which walk you to the next level of the tutorial, down the left side of the page is each part of the tutorial. Hope this helps!

I read through this site and the tutorials. It was a little on the wordy side, but for me, it's almost a bit easier to understand. For those of you who are still teetering on CSS, this might help, it's working for me. (I'm not getting paid to say that either :-P)

Similar to something I bookmarked in module one, this page does a great job explaining CSS in its most basic terms. It is short on words, but long on meaning, which is what I tend to seek out when learning something new. The following line (which is very similar to something Alex said in the lecture) really helped me put CSS into perspective: "The coolest thing about CSS is that you can link to an external style sheet, and this sheet can change the style (font size, color, link color, link hover etc.) on your whole Web site just by editing the one style sheet."

I host at least 5 different sites with this webserver and have never had any trouble. I've used their help desk quite a few times and have always received a response in a timely manner. When I was first looking for a webhost, I found a list of reviews on CNet, and at the time, IXwebhosting was rated #1. The price is right as well. I approve!

Here is a site that may be useful to our class when trying to find ideas and sample css style sheets to help with building our own sites. There are examples of a variety of layouts including two and three columns.

This column offers a helpful "cheat" for programmers seeking to have a vertical background color extend all the way down the page. A quirk in CSS sometimes results in making it difficult for columns to extend the full length. The solution is to create a vertically tiled background image that "forces" vertical columns to extend all the way.

This site also helped me out last semester. The biggest problem I had just simply understanding the concepts behind HTML. Once I got the patterns down, it was just a matter of learning the tags, etc.

Throughout this course, I seem to always visit this page for different topics. I find it to be written in everyday language, even when explaining Javascript. I've looked over the site, and it "works" for me to help understand the language.

This CSS cheat sheet is not really set up like a standard cheat sheet but it is easy to read and follow along. I think it will be helpful to those of us who need to be reminded of all the CSS shorthand.

This is a great website that explains PHP in a very simple manner and includes pictures, tutorials and much much more. I found it VERY helpful when trying to gain a grasp of what exactly PHP is.

I came across this site, from the same provide that I found some good stuff for HTML. This is a great tutorial set up to help beginners like myself get a better idea for 'STYLE'

I found this site to be helpful when learning the HTML process. It gives a brief overview of adding color when creating a web page.

This HTML tutorial website provides examples of how to create basic tags, format text, and add links. This will be helpful when learning how to write your own HTML.

W3Schools is an amazing resource. I used it in my last ICM class (512) for tutorials in XHTML and CSS. This particular page provides the hexadecimal codes for many colors that we can use in web pages as we go through our class challenges. Hope it helps! (I use it all the time!)
