This is a great website for accessing video tutorials for just about any aspect of web design. The video screencasts are great quality and easy to follow along. #47 is a CSS Shorthand video that most people in the class will find helpful.

Convert spreadsheet cells to HTML tables by copy and paste. This site was created by a fellow online producer at the Orlando Sentinel. I've found it to be rather helpful for presentation of data.

With so much software available to consumers, this review page will help you choose the software you want to use. The website will be beneficial for when you begin designing your own websites and want to ensure you are using the best software available.

This page is just a basic intro/course description for an HTML class taught at UC Berkeley. It's really just a few sentences, but it's one of those short on words/long on meaning pieces of text that I admire because it gets to the meat of what HTML is all about in a very intelligent way. What struck me, though, was the line that states: "... it's valuable to know HTML even if your day job involves working with a content management system... " I work with a CMS all day! As I've mentioned before, I work for CNN.com and mainly produce interactive features and such, yet I know shockingly little about them there Internets! This course will hopefully help me bridge that gap between the material I am comfortable with, and that which intimidates me.

Here is a very basic multi-page site dedicated to Walt Disney World. Each of the four theme parks has its own webpage, linked together through navigation at the bottom of the page. I'd forgotten how hand coding (vs Dreamweaver) can be a time consuming feat! But I survived and it's helping to re-learn basic html codes!

This links to the menu bar template I used in my Chicken Kiev restyle with CSS. I like it because it has a clean modern look that doesn't look "button heavy". There is a fair amount of code, but most of it is straightforward. I made comments in my CSS sheet to help me remember what was going on. For webprog-2-a.

This is a web hosting company I've used for the past six years or so. It used to be called Catalog.com. I give it a decent rating. The administrative control panel interface is easy. Hosting packages provide for MS SQL Server, wordpress installations, metrics, spam sharks, email, ecommerce, php and fairly speedy support help. One annoyance: Webhero is constantly changing its price structure every 6 months or so. Sometimes hosting is free, then it costs a little, then it is free again. Economic survival online is an art these days, (I work for a newspaper) so I can't blame them too much. I currently own three domain names, and all of them are registered with this company.

Recipe page I made with CSS and CSS menu I got help with doing a google search. The menu system has a style applied to it.

This is as complex as this form is going to get. All that needs to be done to make it work is to enter your name and email address as values. Many thanks to Erica for helping me out.

I was able to figure out how to use a jquery fadeout. I found that beginners video to be very helpful! I also made it a 'slow' fade.

PHP Help and Issues

This is my attempt to help others who are trying to create a task that spits back random images instead of just a random number (the Dice module). I used a screen shot from a w3schools example, and I also used 2 screen shots of my own work to assist others. This saved time in writing the code...

updating this page on my photo site from module 2, I have changed the layout a bit. I have also added buttons to show and hide the description of the pictures. I really like this show/hide feature. I feel it will come into good use when i have alot of text, that i dont want overwhelming a user unless they want to read it all. the jquery home page and tutorials are very very helpful with great, at least i think so, examples/demos/references to using javascript and jquery

Here is my final ICM505 assignment. I chose to do the course rating challenge, using all of the courses in the Communications graduate program that are to be offered next semester.
