An online training course from Web Developers Notes that explains the MySQL commands to create database tables: rows, columns, records, assigning unique id numbers to individuals records. At the news organization where I work, developers have used MySQL to create databases for Connecticut high school football and basketball statistics. This is a great website that explains PHP in a very simple manner and includes pictures, tutorials and much much more. I found it VERY helpful when trying to gain a grasp of what exactly PHP is.

Never knew this site had tutorials in all the years I've gone to it. The "font" section looks like it'd be especially helpful when doing the challenge to spruce up your recipe page. Good luck.

For challenge 1-f, I took a recipe and reformatted it using the tags I learned to use from the lectures.

Here is a 4 page site I made for upcoming Connecticut concerts for the month of February. I included a splash page that includes links to Toad's Place, Mohegan Sun, and The Webster. On each of the 3 venue pages, I included links to the venues' official website as well. Then, I included text about upcoming concerts. I purposely didn't link back to the splash page, thinking that once the user is into the venue sites, it wasn't necessary to return there.

I found this site to be helpful when learning the HTML process. It gives a brief overview of adding color when creating a web page.

I have found myself over the years Googling part of a HTML code to make sureI get it written correctly. Most of the time I will type in something like " just as a starting point. I think this site will help elimiate the need for many different sites. This looks to be a one stop shop for any common, and even some obscure HML coding.

Webdesignwall.com is a tutorial page for using CSS. It also offers tutorials on many web design software tools, as well as common design mistakes.

It looks as though 2 other people submitted sites on color charts, so variety's purposes, here's a site that provides information on various web browsers. It's a bit of a learning experience -- did anyone else know there is a web browser called Firebug or Opera Dragonfly??

Convert spreadsheet cells to HTML tables by copy and paste. This site was created by a fellow online producer at the Orlando Sentinel. I've found it to be rather helpful for presentation of data.

This tutorial tells you how to create interesting thumbnail images using PHP. It includes a video demonstration as well as some PHP coding.

Another great tutorial given by w3schools.com. This tutorial walks you through from the most basic steps, but it also explains very in depth material as well.

This page is just a basic intro/course description for an HTML class taught at UC Berkeley. It's really just a few sentences, but it's one of those short on words/long on meaning pieces of text that I admire because it gets to the meat of what HTML is all about in a very intelligent way. What struck me, though, was the line that states: "... it's valuable to know HTML even if your day job involves working with a content management system... " I work with a CMS all day! As I've mentioned before, I work for CNN.com and mainly produce interactive features and such, yet I know shockingly little about them there Internets! This course will hopefully help me bridge that gap between the material I am comfortable with, and that which intimidates me.

Getting columnated is a little tricky for beginners like myself. In lecture 2-3: Columnated, I added a comment with a link to a site that lays out the fundamentals of the language used. I think this would be especially helpful to someone who aspires to be a web producer because a producer needs to speak in html and css language. Made a few comments regarding photoshop and other aspects to the 2-column layout. Long lecture, but helpful in understanding the layout neccessities.

This is a tasty almond twist to the traditional 7-up cake. It is a perfect party dessert. Hint - For those of you who don't like almond you can substitute a different flavor of extract for the taste you prefer. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! This is a recipe I found on www.allrecipes.com. I love flan but I haven't personally used this recipe. In creating this page I found some tags on www.w3schools.com that were useful. I'll try to spice this page up more but for now here it is.
