This is my rendering of the fibonacci sequence. I must admit that i had done this previously using javascript (when I was an undergrad, 4+yrs ago) and I would not let myself 'cheat' by researching other web sites. After sketching out the functionality and few tries I was able to get it, but I did have some difficulty with the formatting, for whatever reason, I could not get the '\n' to work, instead, i decided to echo a
tag.

Hmmm... close enough. 0 1 1 2 3 5 etc.

I am a Mac guy and I use this service for my work. they are Mac based so I do not have to think about anything too complicated :-)

This is just an example of one of the many pages on the w3schools.com page. I used this site in my 512 class last semester all the time and it is extremly helpful in helping to get all the little aspects of coding. Plus it gives the example code that you can copy and then mess around with to get the hang of it.

Pat: be sure to include the tag from the assignment. In this case, it's webprog-1-a, and I added it for you.

This proved to me I know next to nothing about XHTML, with that said, I know I have a lot to learn and am quickly learning from my mistakes.

In case I haven't answered elsewhere. You can do as many of the challenges as you like. Take a look over the syllabus for information as to how completion is related to grades. And yes, in response to the first time around, I've provided a longer deadline, for more flexibility. Generally, the work is due within one week after the module is scheduled. And yes, I use Diigo to find everything you've done--so if you want me to see it, make sure you bookmark it and let me know what you want it to count for (e.g., webprog-1-b, like this one).

Getting started with HTML is from The World Wide Web Consortium (w3c). This particular article is helpful because it includes the basics of html, including what it is and how to write in html. W3C has to do with the development of html, which I found out from the book, Web Design In A Nutshell by Jennifer Robbins.

A list of all the HTML codes, and then some. I looked over the list and had never seen quite a few (or at least never noticed them). I think its a good compliation of codes, as long as you know what you might be looking for, considering it *is* alphabatised.

I found this website to be extremely helpful when coding HTML. It lists the HTML tags available and then provides descriptions, and examples of each being used. While other books or websites reference the tags use and try to explain the result, the examples on this site put into action what the user will see when you use the tag. Definitely worth checking out if you ever get stuck

I love the simplicity of 37Signals applications. It is based on Ruby On Rails and they have a terrific outlook on Web Application design and running a business.

Strengths: Free to join, offers tutorials and widgets, you have access to other Angelfire pages broken up by genre Weaknesses: Once you exceed certain bandwidth, you must pay. Also, I think a page that hadn't been edited in years was deleted.

Angelfire's been around for quite a while, though they haven't grown as quickly with people's needs, I think. The downside is no access to databases or programming, which for free is fine. Another upside is that it is a Lycos site, so probably (though I'm not sure) few problems with downtime or slow servers. (+10)

I don't remember having problems with downtime or slow servers using Angelfire (are those the same as time out errors?); however, I could see how your additional downsides would affect advanced programmers.

Not only will my recipe web page provide you with a tasty treat, but it can also serve as an example of a validated XHTML page. Fabulous!

Here is a 4 page site I made for upcoming Connecticut concerts for the month of February. I included a splash page that includes links to Toad's Place, Mohegan Sun, and The Webster. On each of the 3 venue pages, I included links to the venues' official website as well. Then, I included text about upcoming concerts. I purposely didn't link back to the splash page, thinking that once the user is into the venue sites, it wasn't necessary to return there.

Here is a recipe I found to make snickerdoodle cookies. If you've never had them before and are a fan of cinnamon and sugar... brace yourself.

This is my peach daquiri recipe. The picture is a mango daquiri, which is also good. This is because Flickr did not provide a creative commons picture that I found appealing.

This is a short little video comparing the difference between HTML and CSS to the difference of black/white or color photographs. The pictures are from a vacation to Sanibel Island, Florida and the West River in Guilford, CT.

Here is a very basic multi-page site dedicated to Walt Disney World. Each of the four theme parks has its own webpage, linked together through navigation at the bottom of the page. I'd forgotten how hand coding (vs Dreamweaver) can be a time consuming feat! But I survived and it's helping to re-learn basic html codes!

Here is a yummy recipe for some chicken wings cooked in a crock pot and finished in an oven. Try them out, you'll love them!

Two questions relating to the ICM DC syllabus.

Thought I would share with everyone a bit about myself. It was interesting creating a page without tags because I was limited to the layout running on and on without line breaks or margins on the page. I tend to design sites with organization and structure and this was totally out of the ordinary for me. Happy Reading.
