The group was started at DrupalCon Barcelona 2007 and includes discussions on how to integrate the Semantic Web technologies into Drupal and list the various effort of the community towards enabling RDF in Drupal. Drupal 7 comes with native RDFa support in core. Rule Interchange Format (RIF). It provides a high-level explanation of RIF concepts and architecture as well as a general survey of RIF documents.

The Semantic Wikipedia would combine the properties of the Semantic Web and Wiki technology. In this enhancement, articles would have properties (or traits), which could be mixed or combined to allow articles to be members of dynamic categories, chosen by user requests. Lists would no longer be just the numerous pre-formatted list articles, but rather, a list could be dynamically created for all articles matching selected search properties.

HTML microdata [MICRODATA] is an extension to HTML used to embed machine-readable data into HTML documents. Whereas the microdata specification describes a means of markup, the output format is JSON. This specification describes processing rules that may be used to extract RDF [RDF-CONCEPTS] from an HTML document containing microdata.

OpenStructs is an education and distribution site dedicated to open source software for converting, managing, viewing and manipulating structured data. Structured data can represent any existing data struct from the simplest attribute-value pair formats to fully specified relational database schema. Material on this OpenStructs site ranges from individual tools to complete open semantic frameworks (OSF) with which to builld comprehensive semantic instances. All OpenStructs tools are premised on the canonical RDF (Resource Description Framework) data model. Thus, OpenStructs tools either convert existing data structures to RDF, extract structure from content as RDF, or manage and manipulate RDF. All OpenStructs tools and approaches are as compliant as possible with existing open standards from the W3C. The intent is to achieve maximum data and software interoperabililty.

Protégé is a free, open source ontology editor and knowledge-base framework. The Protégé platform supports two main ways of modeling ontologies via the Protégé-Frames and Protégé-OWL editors. Protégé ontologies can be exported into a variety of formats including RDF(S), OWL, and XML Schema.

OBO-Edit is optimized for the OBO biological ontology file format. It features an easy to use editing interface, a simple but fast reasoner, and powerful search capabilities. OBO-Edit is developed by the Berkeley Bioinformatics and Ontologies Project, and is funded by the Gene Ontology Consortium. A simple but powerful service that delivers RDF-based structured descriptions of Web addressable resources (documents or real world objects) in a variety of formats through Generic HTTP URIs. The underlying technology is Virtuoso's Sponger, which takes an existing Web-accessible resource (webpage, media) and generates an RDF graph of its metadata using existing well-known ontologies as well as site-specific knowledge. URIBurner then re-presents this data as either a new HTML webpage, or directly as RDF in a variety of serializations (RDF/XML, text/n3, turtle, JSON).

RDF is a directed, labeled graph data format for representing information in the Web. This specification defines the syntax and semantics of the SPARQL query language for RDF. SPARQL can be used to express queries across diverse data sources, whether the data is stored natively as RDF or viewed as RDF via middleware. SPARQL contains capabilities for querying required and optional graph patterns along with their conjunctions and disjunctions. SPARQL also supports extensible value testing and constraining queries by source RDF graph. The results of SPARQL queries can be results sets or RDF graphs.

find and be found The MetaWeb Project is an example application for the exchange of messages in the Semantic Web. It offers the possibility to add individual and standardised markings on Websides, Blogs, Feeds, Images or Web Services. On the other hand it is possible to create search profiles with the same method, so that the hits are of a high quality because of the matching of the meta descriptions. Markings and search profiles can be given out in the RDF format or be parsed on the pages CodeInput (for markings) and AnglerInput (for search profiles).

This specification describes the FOAF language, defined as a dictionary of named properties and classes using W3C's RDF technology.FOAF is a project devoted to linking people and information using the Web. Regardless of whether information is in people's heads, in physical or digital documents, or in the form of factual data, it can be linked. FOAF integrates three kinds of network: social networks of human collaboration, friendship and association; representational networks that describe a simplified view of a cartoon universe in factual terms, and information networks that use Web-based linking to share independently published descriptions of this inter-connected world. FOAF does not compete with socially-oriented Web sites; rather it provides an approach in which different sites can tell different parts of the larger story, and by which users can retain some control over their information in a non-proprietary format.

Google Refine is a power tool for cleaning up raw data, making it consistent, linking it to data registries like Freebase, augmenting it with more data from other data sources, transforming it into the required format for other tools to consume, and contributing it back to some data sources like Freebase. Google Refine is not a web service but a desktop app that runs on your own computer, so you can process sensitive data with privacy.
