Track SEO rankings with Google Analytics - 0 views

  •
Well, you can't specifically track the exact position of the keyword that was clicked like you can do with AdWords. But it is possible to determine the page he was on. A ranking tool can tell you over and over again that a certain keyword is around position 15 in Google while Google Analytics claims he is on page 1 (position 1 to 10). This effect can come from 'personalized search' or 'local results' that can influence the Google rankings dramatically. People see other results than you see with your ranking tools. And therefore you need Google Analytics to do the real ranking.

Pitch Your Micro-Release in 140 Characters | Microblink - 0 views

George's site, PR140, is a URL-shortener for public relations professionals, focused on the idea that it would only be used for PR pitches and stories, making it easier for journalists to track. As the site catches on, "[j]ournalists and other web watchers following [these tweets] will see the pitch" and recognize it as such by the pr140.com portion of the link address.

16 Website Analytical Tools - 1 views

  •
All website analytical tools have their pros and cons, and many people use more than one to track their website's visitors and gather other important data. With that in mind, I've put together this list of some of the best. All of these web applications offer a free service; while some are completely free, others offer a premium account as well. There is an exception. I've included the Mint and Yahoo analytical software packages in this list due to their popularity, although they are not free.

Managing Social Media with a system - 0 views

  •
At a recent social media workshop a participant asked me to reveal my social media routine - how I track, converse, communicate and otherwise curate all my various social media activities. I paused to think about it for a while because I never really considered what I do a routine, but it occurred to me that, in fact, I do have a systematic approach to social media. (No surprise really, I'm a systems thinker and I just do it habitually - ask my wife, I have a system for making the bed and loading the dishwasher.)

It's a great idea to create social media systems, or "processes" that allow you to automate some research and setting time and tasks for different aspects of social media - whether listening or interacting.

ROI for Social Media Marketing: It's Complicated - 0 views

  •
Know your objectives in advance. Start small, when possible: think "proof of concept." Track the metrics obsessively. Make sure that your interactive marketing efforts are tied to the sales funnel (e.g., your vp of sales ought to be able to determine where most leads are coming from online). Report frequently.
