Kitchen for kids - 2 views

This is a great source to teach your students words related to kitchen. If you tutor at your home or at your student's home, it is better take him/her to the kitchen and show him/her everything.Or you can bring some kitchen utilities into the class and show them. I myself tried it with my private student and it was a success. This way they will internalize the material better.

Learning Prepositions of places and vocabulary through song - 2 views

  •
I used this video/audio file to teach my 9 years old niece and her 8 years old friend English prepositions of places. The interesting thing was that I didn't tell them that they were going to learn prepositions . I just played the video clip and went away letting them watch and enjoy it. After watching the video clip several times, I noticed that they were learning prepositions by discussing the video clip and translating prepositions into Armenian language. Hence, I found this video clip to be very useful for teaching prepositions to children in an entertaining way.

EFL teachers can use this link to print different recipes and pictures which can be used especially with intermediate level students. Students will see and learn how to cook things and how to write recipes. They will learn both cooking and the language (the use of imperative: food items). I have tried it myself and baked tasty cookies!

Try the New "Make a Face" Song Along with the increase in International Understanding Education in Japan, there is also a strong desire to preserve traditional Japanese activities. It's for this reason that in the New Year you'll probably find Japanese schools teaching lots of traditional games.

If you want to have fun and learn face parts in English, this game could be helpful. This game is better for kids, and beginner levels.

Another useful game that enriches vocabulary for ESL students, who already have some knowledge of English. This game is especially good in experiencing different situations, learning new words that are proper for that context. I think, it's also fun!

Vocabulary through Riddles - 2 views

  •
This game serves better for upper elementary learners as they have to possess certain vocabulary in order to read the riddles and match them to the corresponding words. I have piloted this game with my 17-18-year-old students of that level and it worked very well.

The only thing you need to do is to create an account and start creating or teaching your students how to create glogs. You can engage your students in making their posters on different topics from movies to animals. I asked my brother to make a poster on animals. He was instantly involved in the process :)

Handout of animals - 2 views

  •
This handout contains the right names of the animals in flashcards presented in the following bookmark.
  •
I found this handout useful because the flashcards that I have posted right below this handout will be helpful for identifying the animals' names. Moreover, kids can not only look at the flashcards but also read the spelling of each word. Besides, there will also be some animals that will be unknown even for the teacher (it happened to me very often) and for not wasting the time to look up in the dictionary, teachers can use this handout in case of necessity.

For children who can read this crossword puzzle gives an opportunity to recognize words in written form and practice reading. I have practiced it with my 5 year old son and, though he can not read, he has learnt a lot of new words
