This is a fine activity for different level students. there is choice among the levels appropriate to each category. I tried this with upper level, and it was a success. The game is both interesting and effective in the sense of language learning.

Super Similes - 2 views

I have tried this game with an intermediate and upper intermediate level students and it worked quite well. The only difficulty may the result of culture differences. There may be some set phrases which do not exist in the S's native language, and unfamiliarity with this set phrase may cause come difficulties. However it is very useful and effective.

Vocabulary Jungle - 1 views

  •
This game is for students of advance level. It promotes the students' vocabulary skills.
  •
The activity is to develop vocabulary in certain limited topics. This could be applied for from intermediate level, since the words in charts do not usually met often. I would add that the student knew some names of flowers and anilmas, but the rest of the words were difficult and unknown to him.

we tell stories - 0 views

The game is designed in a way that high intermediate EFL students can add in it whatever it requires to complete. Through this game, EFL learners become inspired and excited. At the end of the story the reader can write his/her own analogue and change the story. Accordingly, it will also promote creativity and learners writing skill. I tried it out with my student and I got a great result.

Audio / Video and text materials - 7 views

These materials are from BBC Learning English site. All of them are downloadable and each audio & video material have its pdf file (with transcript and vocabulary). These audios/videos are good for developing students' listening and reading skills, increasing students' vocabulary, and also speaking skills. It depends on the purpose of using this material. For example I used the first one (I haven't used the others yet) "Are men the weaker sex" with my intermediate students. While listening they underlined all the unknown words they had come up with, then we discussed the words together (I explained them in a target language). After, the discussion, I asked them not to look at the transcript and listened to the audio again. At the end of the audio they told me what the audio was about and in this way I could make them speak.

You're a trader in an ancient city. A lot of reading invovled, with a few answer choices in the conversation. Might get alittle boring, but worth a try.

Story in a bag - 10 views

  •
This is a nice speaking activity that could work with both intermediate and advanced level students. It helps the learners to practice their vocabulary, cohesion and transition words, as well as enables the students to use their creativity. This activity might also develop impromptu speech since the students are required to create their story orally, consequently there will be some spontaneous changes.
