Australia is moving towards a national curriculum. Whether teachers and educators like it or not the process is well underway. To get ones head around the timelines of what ACRA are proposing, I've attached as a PDF file that shows the expected dates for the implementation of the new curriculum.

Powered by Google this "instant" search portal searches the Web, images, news, video, Twitter and Google Maps. Though it is slower to react than single focussed searches, because it aggregates results across a range of reference types it is still useful. This week our Year 4 team visited the RM REAL centre to look at how we might realise our ideas on learning spaces with the purchase of some new flexible furniture. Before we went I realised that whilst our teaching team have put considerable thought into how we might transform our learning spaces, we had not yet consulted the children.

Semantic Web technologies have immense potential to transform the Internet into a distributed reasoning machine that will not only execute extremely precise searches, but will also have the ability to analyze the data it finds to create new knowledge. This paper examines the state of Semantic Web (also known as Linked Data) tools and infrastructure to determine whether semantic technologies are sufficiently mature for non-expert use, and to identify some of the obstacles to global Linked Data implementation.
