(VIDEO) Shedding light on the vitamin D deficiency 'crisis' By GrassRootsHealth.com Oct 11, 2009 - 4:49:39 PM San Diego, CA - Can vitamin D prevent 80% of the incidence of breast cancer? What is its affect on colon cancer and other major illnesses? These questions and more will be addressed when some of the most prominent vitamin D researchers in North America participate in the " Diagnosis & Treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency" seminar presented by GrassrootsHealth at the University of Toronto on Tuesday, November 3 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. GrassrootsHealth is the founder of D*action, an international public health project whose goal is to solve the vitamin D deficiency epidemic. GrassrootsHealth and D*action work with over 30 scientists, institutions and individuals committed to educate, test, and study vitamin D levels worldwide. At the conference, a group of physicians and researchers in the vitamin D field will discuss vitamin D's role in the potential prevention of many diseases, including breast cancer, colon cancer, type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis, the ultimate reduction in the incidence of infectious diseases and the economic impact of such action

"Last Wednesday night I gave a lecture to my clients on hunter-gatherer diets. The turnout was great and the information was well-received. I had it professionally video-recorded and will probably offer this as a DVD for sale (with the handout included). Watch for it in the future. Part of what I discussed was vitamin D3 supplementation. Since I have been supplementing with 4,000-10,000 Units of D3 per day I have noted enhanced recovery and size response from my training. Apparently, skeletal muscle has both surface receptors and nuclear receptors for D3 that augment calcium flux during contraction (from surface receptors) and have steroid-like effects at the nuclear level WRT protein synthesis. This D3 supplementation is not really "supplementation" but is instead "augmentation" to levels that would be normal if we got normal sun exposure as we did in our evolutionary past. Check out www.vitamindcouncil.org for more information. Also, check out this abstract below for your consideration. Also, check out this article."

Holick explains how Vit D made the Dinosaurs extinct - Prof. Marshall's Perspective - P... - 0 views

On 29th September, Dr Michael Holick appeared on the "Coast to Coast" radio show, hosted by George Noory: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/guest/holick-dr-michael/41323 As many of you can't afford a subscription to listen to the whole show, I have edited the broadcast into an MP3 file of short snippets, so that we can (intelligently) discuss what was said. There is a "beep tone" to separate each snippet of info. You can download it from: http://MarshallProtocol.com/video/Holick.mp3 First is the introduction, setting out Dr Holick's overview of Vit D.

"In 1995 my son received the devastating diagnosis of MS. Having been a research scientist for 30 years, I decided to plunge into the scientific literature for MS to determine the most likely factors which cause MS and to use this information to develop an effective therapy for my son. Notably, many people are having great success in halting or greatly slowing MS with nutritional strategies; many Testimonials are available. I am most pleased to report that my son remains in excellent health with no MS symptoms. I discovered abundant scientific evidence that indicates that various nutritional factors potentially play major roles in the onset and progression of MS. Strangely, this information was not being made available to persons with MS by doctors nor by established MS charities."
