The first place on the Internet to offer free books on-line. From the "About" page: "The first ebook was available on July 4, 1971, as eText #1 of Project Gutenberg, a visionary project launched by Michael Hart to create free electronic versions of literary works and disseminate them worldwide."

I don't often have free time to sit down and read for pleasure; however I've found that I can listen to books (with only one earphone in) as I drive, fly, mow the lawn or work on my home remodeling projects.This allows me to get through a book or 2 every week. Great site to keep track of books you've read, see what your friends recommend and know which books you shouldn't waste your time reading!

Here, Wikipedia summarizes Moore's Law, which describes scientific trends in technological advances. Scroll down to the highlighted sub-chapter of the page, and you can review projected challenges to faster technology.   In the end, we cannot stop the evolution of technology, as it races circles around current systems in twos.  Every couple of years, we need to upgrade, otherwise, consider being left behind in obsolescence (scroll down to the next highlight for a definition).

For those of you working with me under the Human Services umbrella I found this website giving a broad view of what it means to work in the Human Services field. I wanted to get a clear picture of what it has to offer, as we will be choosing sub-topics for our project.

I love this site! They also have an inexpensive magazine, but much of the content is available on the site, blogs, and archives. Everything about sustainable living.
