Earthducation. Research and Design by LT Media.Lab Retrieved from http://lt.umn.edu/earthducation/ To date, the Earthducation team has completed 6 expeditions, beginning with a pilot expedition to the Arctic in 2010, and then journeying to Africa, Europe, Australia, South America, and Arctic North America for expeditions 1 through 5. This gives the student and the teacher virtual on site experience with the culture and environment of the different places. Student are able to make connections with what is happening in the real world. There is directed collaboration on education and sustainability in an international setting. There are some related lessons available and links to other sites like National Geographic for related leaning activities. This appears to require some added teaching strategies but is very authentic.
