Privacy Playground: The First Adventure of the Three CyberPigs is a game for 8-10 year olds similar to the AT and T websites game. This one is from http://www.media-awareness.ca/english/games/privacy_playground/. This website has lots of information about media and digital literacy.

Empressr is a web-based application similar to Microsoft PowerPoint. This application is free and allows its users to create and upload slideshows online. Empressr allows users to incorporate media (e.g. video, images, and audio) into their presentations. One special feature of Empressr is the use of Flash to stream videos to make slideshows more dynamic by expanding its media limitations

This series of cartoons, activities, and games teaches kids about Internet safety, cyberbullying, determining if information is valid, and the different types of media available on the Internet. Professor Garfield is a blast from the past for me, but the content is presented in such a way that kids of any age should appreciate it. It appears that this site is geared more for elementary age kids.

ove this website! has resources for grades pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. site allows you search by topic. What I especially liked was that it gave the option research interactive media videos slide shows lesson plans and projects!

Nebraskastudies.org is a visual, interactive timeline of significant events in the history of Nebraska and the world. Each image in the visual time line is a link to an article with more information and media to go along with the topic. The site is a joint venture of NET public television, the Nebraska Department of Education, and the Nebraska State Historical Society.

On xtimeline.com, students and teachers can create media-rich timelines. xtimeline allows you to embed pictures and videos along with text and links to more information.

Virtual Field Trips is a website that takes teachers and students on field trips via the internet. Categories are Career Technical, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Health and PE, Language Arts, Math, Library media, Professional Development, Science, Social Studies, Technology and Other. As I searched around it looked like several of the field trips use our Sea Monkey as their web site composer of choice. Uen.org is the URL. At the bottom of the page we can click on "contact us" which takes us to a page where we can put in our contact information so they can get back to us. There is an 800 number to call. The website is based in Utah. Uen stands for Utah Education Network partnered with Utah State Office of Education and Higher Ed Utah, which is in Salt Lake City.

I really liked the S M A R T breakdown. This essentially related to Safety, Manners, Authentic learning, Research and Information, and Twenty-First century challenges. Good links throughout page.

Click and drag videos or portions of videos from YouTube to mash them together. Could be a useful tool for putting together clips when not the whole video is needed.
