Free (for basic) and easy to use creator of wiki pages. Teachers can sign up for no usage limits and no advertising for free providing it will be used for educational purposes (normally %50 a year). Teacher can create their own wiki page for a class or students can create their own wiki pages for an assignment/class, etc.

Barrier -free Education is a web site dedicated to the quality education to students with disabilities. It is a work in progress with little information to offer. I like the premise because I am a new teacher that imagines my attempts at differentiation with disabled students end in failure or worse boredom. Because it is funded by an NSF grant, I look forward to returning to the site to see progress on this topic.

This site is amazing. It has so many tools it's crazy. The best part is that almost all of them are free. Some of the website builders come with a fee. However, for the most part all the tools are at your use for free. Some links require a login/password, but it still cost nothing. One stop shop for all your teaching needs!

This site provides teachers with free online tools such as quiz and worksheet generators. It also offers tips on building classroom websites and provides a place for students to turn in assignments online.

This site is for younger students and has hundreds of audio books that are free to listen to. What a great site for reading centers. This could be something used everyday in the classroom.

Smartkiddies is a completely free math practice site out of Australia for students in K-6. After creating a teacher account, you can set up a class with usernames and passwords for up to 75 students per class. After creating a class, you can assign instructional videos, activities, worksheets, assessments, and enrichment opportunities. Progress reports and messaging are built in to help you monitor and communicate about student progress. Another great feature is the ability to practice basic math facts and concepts by competing against other kids from around the world.

Empressr is a web-based application similar to Microsoft PowerPoint. This application is free and allows its users to create and upload slideshows online. Empressr allows users to incorporate media (e.g. video, images, and audio) into their presentations. One special feature of Empressr is the use of Flash to stream videos to make slideshows more dynamic by expanding its media limitations

Schoology is a free service that allows you to create a social network-type environment for online instruction. Think of it as a combination of Moodle and Facebook and you've got a pretty good idea of what it is like.

This site provides free podcasts or audio files you can stream that address most levels of learners, from beginning to advanced speakers. It would also be a great site for students to use over the summer so they don't get behind!

Full Option Science System. Website for science teachers with online resources and online activities for students. Free with a teacher user/pass. Good smartboard and interactive activities students can participate in. Contains links or other info related to the topics for inquiry.

BitStrips is a website so that students can create comic strips. The user has the option of creating the characters, backgrounds, and text. Make sure to use the public version. If you try to use the educational version, it isn't free. All students need is an email address to begin. It's great because they can email you the comic strip.

This is site where you create web like maps with others. The site look really amazing however I have not been able to spend more time on it yet to really see the true value yet. There is a section for educators that lowers the fees. There is also a free option where they strip down the functionality.

Great website to get NASA into your classroom. Complete education lesson plans in pdf format. Also, links to request educators from NASA to come to your school in virtual form such as Skype or in person for a conference. Best of all completely free!

Great site for students and teachers. Lots of games and information about different aspects of music. Includes a free classical music library.

Centered around a DVD for girls 12-19, this wedsite talks about the dangers facing young women. The DVD also has techniques used to defend against an attacker. It is free for download.

This is a site that I have used for years. There are many lesson plans, resources, and ideas for middle school science teachers. It even has a free alphabetical science term border for your classroom.

Triptico offers many different activities for reading, math, science, and classroom management. Everything is free. The tools on this site are particularly useful with an interactive white board.

This website has lots of free on-line music theory drills where teachers can make assignments and students sign in to do them. The drills were mostly string player oriented. One was to indicate where on the fingerboard are specific notes. If the computer is off-line teachers can purchase the program for only $12.00.

LiveBinders is a place where users can place websites, documents, images, text, and videos into virtual 3-ring binders. Easy, attractive, and free!
