"Gmail is one of the most popular email services with more than 500 million users, so chances are pretty good that you're one of them. But are you making the most of your email account? "Priority Inbox can help save you time if you're overwhelmed with the amount of email you get. It attempts to automatically identify your important incoming messages and separates them out from everything else. Gmail uses a variety of signals to prioritize your incoming messages, including who you've emailed and chatted with most and which keywords appear frequently in the messages you opened recently. When you click the Priority Inbox navigation link on the left-hand side of your mail, you'll see messages grouped in three sections: Important and unread, Starred, and Everything else."

" I came across this great script from Bjorn Behrendt that automatically creates folders in Google Drive from a Google Spreadsheet with a list of student names and gmails and the classes they're in. In the teacher's Drive it creates a folder for each class (separated by period if you have multiple sections of the same prep) with three types of folders."

While most of us will prepare a will at some point in our lives in order to divvy up physical assets, what happens to our digital lives? Google today tackled the subject of the "digital afterlife" with the launch of a service that will allow users to designate how they want their accounts handled after they die. The offering, dubbed Inactive Account Manager, lets people "tell us what to do with your Gmail messages and data from several other Google services if your account becomes inactive for any reason," Google said in a blog post.

"To acquire and practice literacy skills today, students and educators in Oklahoma City Public Schools require access to Evernote, Google Docs, Gmail, Edmodo, Posterous, Celebrate Oklahoma Voices, and other educationally appropriate, interactive websites. All these websites are currently (as of February 9, 2012) blocked by OKCPS for student access. OKCPS must stop its "draconian" and unjustified Internet content filtering policies and adopt BALANCED policies. The district must TRUST teachers and empower them to directly bypass the content filter with their login credentials when it is professionally justified for instruction and learning."

"Twitter with its short and snappy messaging is very dependent on mobile usage and smart phones. The rise of the visual web is making Pinterest and Tumblr the fastest growing social networks on the planet. Google+ is no longer an afterthought and is embedded in Google's web assets including Gmail, local checkins and the mobile Android ecosystems."

Two teachers and a few students at Monday's school board meeting questioned the decision, noting the other services provided by Google - such as Google Docs - in some classrooms. One student involved with the National Honor Society said his club uses Google's Gmail to communicate with one another. One teacher said her students use Google Docs to prepare essays. The program, she said, offers students a chance to review each other's papers and she can view students' projects from her computer as they are working on them. "My kids love this," said Laurie Davidson, a seventh-grade language arts teacher.

"Google is also ramping up its integration of AI into G Suite. For example, over 10 percent of Gmail replies are now "machine written and human accepted." Google Cloud CEO Dianne Greene recently commented that "We are now working to make it easy for you. We are incorporating AI into everything you do.""

Upload or drag and drop files, and Send will generate a link that you can set to expire after a certain number of downloads-up to 100-or a certain amount of time, ranging from five minutes to seven days. You can send up to 1 gigabyte, or up to 2.5GB if you sign in with a Firefox account. For comparison sake, SMS generally maxes out at 600 kilobytes. The biggest Gmail attachment you can send is 25 megabytes."

"This means anyone can create and organize a class on the platform, which allows educators to set up and manage course, including both in person and online remote education courses. Classroom is available across platforms, since it's web-based, and it's pretty easy to get set up and started with, so this should be a big boon for private educational organizations, independent skills coaches, hobby instructors and many more."
