Kindle is a electronic book reader. In this technology, kindle is a hand-held device that will help you read. This technology will not only have the words on the screen, but it will read to you.

This is an article from ACM International Conference Proceeding Series; Vol. 8 in the Proceedings of the Australasian conference on Computing education. The authors of the article discuss an initiative that took place at Monash University that was designed to inform secondary school students of the area of digital hardware and computing, including employment opportunity from this area of study. The students were given a project named "Smart House", aptly named because it was to be an automated home system based upon the development of custom hardware and software. I find this article interesting because it is a unique way to introduce an ambiguous area of study, such as "Digital Systems", to students who might not necessarily know what the area of study is. By offering a hands on project to students based in a field that they might have never heard of before, a greater understanding of the opportunities available in this area of study are gained.

This article talks about the new electronic Kindle and how Oprah "boosts" it on her show. She talked about how much she loved the gadget and had a representative from Amazon come and talk about it. This article will be useful to me because it shows her diverse ways in which she promotes reading. She has been very succesful with her book club and encouraging people to read the books she has found and now she promotes the Kindle as well. Oprah will prove to be powerful in this area pertaining to reading as well. She is all about encouraging America to love reading.

This article is concerned with what it may mean to individuals to engage in practices that are physically challenging and risky. The article questions the assumptions that psychological health is commensurate with maintaining physical safety, and that risking one's health and physical safety is necessarily a sign of psychopathology. The research was based upon semi-structured interviews with eight extreme sport practitioners. The interviews were analysed using Colaizzi's version of the phenomenological method. The article explicates the themes identified in the analysis, and discusses their implications for health psychology theory and practice. A worthwhile article that explains some of the reasoning behind children's television. I can only assume that the book would be worth checking out too.

The author reflects on the use of acronyms, jargon, and terminology in electronic engineering. According to the author, terminology is a very significant issue since a common language is vital for the proper exchange of information, particularly when a new technology is developed. The author believes that many of the terms for the various devices were developed given the fact that the technology involved is old and established. (Description provided by EBSCO.)
