Regarding Relevance, I would probably add a check to decide if the app is grade-appropriate and that it will support student growth toward mastery of curricular standards, lesson objectives, etc.

Survey students about what gadgets they own. 3. Get buy-in from parents and the community. 4. Determine rules for personal devices, and make sure everyone is clear on them. 5. Test connectivity by inviting students to bring in their devices. 6. Ask students about their experiences with their own gadgets. 7. Plan how you can use BYOT to develop fun, challenging activities for students.

The Scale of the Universe 2 - 0 views

  •
A zoomable visual demonstration of scale.  Zoom in all the way to Plank length and out to the whole of the observable universe.   This would be an excellent jumping off point for student writing, discussion, and thinking in a science (or math) class.  Another wonderful interactive visual demonstration from Cary and Michael Huang.

Do more than watch a video: discuss, question, and comment. Vialogues puts the "think and do" into video watching. Vialogues allows you to post a video and then invite participants to answer questions, discuss or just comment. This asynchronous tool can be used for private or public interactions. Tip: Use this tool with media literacy lessons.

A nice article and an even nicer chart/poster that help me think about "21st Century" teaching and learning.  Interestingly, very few of the "27 ways" are new, and even fewer require digital technology to make happen.  Check it out. Do you agree?
