please write what you accomplished in your "Studio Day" and display any evidence if you can. Also, write a brief plan of how you will finish by your due date (Sept. 28 for per. 6, Oct. 1 for the rest).

I tranfered my tok wrapping up the brain relfection to word press and posted my this i believe essay analysis but still need to do curation post and start this I believe list
  • Casey Doyle

Today, I brainstormed over 40 different "I believe"s and weeded out some of the bad ones so that I have a nice list of about 25. I also brainstormed different ideas that I want to do for my video, and narrowed it down to about three that I have to decide between (I'm horrible at decision making!). I plan to finish by next Friday by making firm decisions so that I can make my outline and plan/script early this weekend, and begin filming. I hope to finish filming Sunday or early next week, and then edit it after school on my home mac. I'm confident that I can finish in time, as long as I don't make my video too complicated!
Also, maybe period six could have it due on October 1st, too, even if we don't have class that day? Then we could get a second weekend like everyone else? Unless we're planning to watch them all during that class period, then we can make it work by friday :)

I figured out what picture I want for each belief, located pictures I already had, and cast models for pictures I need. I will be taking pictures that involve my whiteboard and things at home tonight and I will photograph with my models at study hall tomorrow. For that, I have decided on a camera and the props I will need. I also have my script for narration and I know what photo editing will need to be done for each picture. After all that, all I will need to do to finish is put it all together and do the narration.

Since I was kind of behind on work, I just started my planning. I have two possible "I Believe"s that I may use with bunches of smaller ones under each. I don't like talking for projects especially if I have to record it so I will probably do a high speed video, stop motion video, or some unique thing I can think of that's not too hard.

This class period, I finished making my list of "I believes." I have a solid 26 but I keep adding more because I keep thinking of more good ones! So I'll probably have to eliminate some if I get more than 30. I plan to work on my video (the story board) over this weekend, and start filming too. I want to get the filming done ASAP so I have a lot of time to edit!! I am not sure as of right now what direction I want my video to go in like if I want to make an animation, stop motion, etc... but I will make my decision by tomorrow!
  • Michael Brutsch

I created some of my believe's and came up with ideas for my film. Scheduled a time to come in tomorrow and use the iPad. I plan on filming soon.
  • Ty Fujii

I found my belief and decided I'm going to make a stop motion animation of me ripping a bunch of b.s. opinions and throwing it away into the trash, in replacement with informed opinions to present my belief.
  • mary mattingly

I pretty much just jotted down ideas for my video. i have a complete visual in my head, im just trying to really hard to get it down and make it tangable! I need to finish my started research and contact people!!

Today I worked on some make-up work. I finished one of the posts that I need to make up. I also created my list of "I believes". at the moment I have about 15 but I plan on adding more so I reach at least 25. I plan on creating my plan for my video and working on it over the weekend.
  • Zachary

I decided which video type I want to do. I also created all of the This I believes I want to use in my video.
  • katifarr

I finished my list of beliefs and story board. I am pleased with my plans for this video. Let's hope the video doesn't get butchered in the filming and editing process...which is usually my issue. I have a lot of ideas but no clue how to execute them successfully.
  • Jacob Steiner

Today I narrowed down my beliefs a little bit and wrote all my different letters on post-its in sharpie. When I get home I'm going to take pictures and make a stop motion of all of the letters coming together.
  • Zoe Cook

Before this class, I already had my list of beliefs and my idea of using a sped-up film. I figured out how I would divide my beliefs onto eight different pages and how I would lay these pages out in class. I also made a rough draft of five out of eight that I will later trace over with dark ink on camera and then speed up over the weekend.
  • Amy Burvall

@Casey - ok...we can do that. Let's move your class deadline until Oct. 2 :)
  • Amy Burvall

@katie - please come see me if you need help..I have lots of experience with student video making :)
  • Nichole Bowen

Today I wrote more of my beliefs on a word document. I also explored the subreddit on Philosophy the "I believe" website to give me more ideas. I plan to finish my list and begin my storyboard for my video this weekend.
  • Ariana A.

Today I added to my beliefs of which I had previously brainstormed on a word document. I then was able to successfully find an app on my iphone that produces quality time lapse videos. Overall i though i was fairly successful today and i hope to continue on to finish a large percent of my project this weekend.
  • Taylor Valade

I made a list of about 30 beliefs and narrowed them down to the ones I felt more strongly about. I also decided what video style I want to use.
  • Kristen Takenaka

I accomplished my 30 "I Believe" list and I an idea of what I want to do for my video. I am thinking having the list pop up, like how you open a children's pop up book. I'll make cards with the beliefs that will pop up. I haven't figured out how I am going to film it or edit it.
  • Cori Cummings

I finished choosing my belief.and making my storyboard. I also I filmed some things for my video. My plan is to get the rest of my video filmed, get the music, edit the video, and upload it on youtube by oct. 1st.
  • Madeline St John

Today in class I drew out a plan for the pictures I'm going to use in my stop motion based on my essay. I'm thinking of using a bit of moving origami and/or common craft. Next I need to draw out all the pictures I'll be using, take many many photos, and put it together in a video!
  • Terrill Rohr

Today in class I finally figured out what I am going to do for my video. I have had several ideas, but never really settled on one. I decided that I was going to do Kinetic Typography. I think that the way it looks in the end is really neat and it would look really cool. I found an easy way to do it using power point. Once I'm done animating each slide I will put it onto the Mac and take a screenshot while the video is playing this way my video will be the screen shot. We had to do this because I wouldn't have been able to make it a movie from my computer.
  • Katie Dalgamouni

In one of my study halls I created a list of 29 of my core beliefs and today in class I brainstormed my video idea and wrote my beliefs in marker on half sheets of paper which will be included in my video.
  • Jasmine Baginski

Because I had already written out a list of 30 beliefs at home before class, I used this period to update my WordPress blog and I posted my "This I Believe" essay analysis.
  • Brad Pierce

I wrote down my core beliefs but i need a lot more. i might have to resort to trivial beliefs to make it longer.
  • Amy Burvall

@ Brad - you could, or you could explain your beliefs with examples and anecdotes more so that your film becomes about 3 minutes in length...or write an essay-type like Grace did.
  • Jordan Gonzales

I took my list of beliefs (it had been made prior to class) and narrowed it down to about 28. I also began to design my words in my sketchbook. I am still torn between doing just one card saying this i believe, or 5 smaller cards with 1 belief per card.
  • Nate Hopper

I brainstormed some beliefs and decided to use a smaller amount of beliefs while going more in depth on each one. I've narrowed down my video idea to using post-its/cards or doing a sped-up writing thing.
  • Iona Unguran

I brainstormed over the one belief I have ( music, shots...). I now have an idea of what I want it to look like, but I still have to write down a plan that's more precise, tape it, edit it...
  • Ashley W.

I accomplished coming up with a plan I will be doing for this project. I watched a few interesting stop- motion animation videos and decided that I would like to do a stop-motion video. To create this animation, I might use a white board, use Photoshop and/ or do something with art materials. I also was able to brainstorm a list of " I believe" beliefs
  • Michael Compton

I have a small list of beliefs, and my video will be digital because my hand writing is terrible.
  • Haelee Tallett

After today's classwork. I made my list of beliefs and decided that I wanted to write my beliefs on pieces of paper and film myself moving the paper into focus so people can see each belief. In this class period I wrote half of my beliefs and am continuing to finish up. I then will record myself placing each of my beliefs into focus of the camera.
  • Taylor Brayce

So my I believe statement is " I believe....In love" So my plan is going to be is to draw a huge heart on a big white construction paper, then i will video tape everyone writing one word they use to describe to love. You won't see the heart into the very end.
  • Anna Dunham

Today I revised my list of beliefs and planned out the shot list for my video and emailed it to my friend who will be filming most of the video.
  • alana mori

i have made a small list of my beliefs (about 19) and then made a layout of what i was going to do. I was going to do a rip collage till i found that it was to hard and i couldnt construct it to look nice enough. So i decided to write on a plastic folder that i cut into a thin sheet making it into sumwhat of a white board. then writing what i believe and erasing it, then putting another thing that i believe. After that i edit the video by fast forwarding it and putting music with it. YAY DONE
  • emilydonkervoet

I have a pretty sufficient amount of beliefs on my list (about 20-25) and started working on my project. My idea for my project is to take pictures of my own life and how they show my beliefs. Each picture i am making into a fake polaroid picture. From there I have I believe and the follow up words written on a flash card. My plan is to film myself arranging each picture and the words that correspond with it. So far I have made most of my flash cards, and now I am taking pictures to relate to them, and then I just have to print and film. YAY!
  • Stig Regan

During the studio day I wrote down a little under 30 beliefs of mine. For the video I plan writing each belief on a note card and filming them with a background that is relative to tat belief. Then I will put them all together with a song.
  • Chris Blondeau

On my free studio day i finished planning my video. I know a stop motion video would be too tedious and would take way too long. So in conclution i decided that i would use the method of video taping me drawing visual aids, and record my voice over.
  • Ty Thourot

I wrote down what i believed in a list format. I was going to film everything in short segments and put them together in a video editing. All this will be done by the due date!
  • nicholas zachmeier

i finished writing down all of my beliefs about 26 for my video im thinking of writing all of my beliefs on a big poster board while recording and speeding it up and putting it to music for my video
  • David McDonald

I made a list of 16 beliefs, and turned them into a poem. As well as found a song for my video. Instead of shooting video, I'm gonna take photos, and play a song in the background as my poem shows up on the screen with the pictures.
  • Makana Kahalewale

In class I made my list of 40 beliefs. I will edit the beliefs to only use 30 or 25. I'm not really sure how im going to do my project yet but i want to try using text in my project. Hopefully i will know soon.
  • evan Phillipson

I have finished writing 30 thoughtful beliefs but i am still thinking of which video format i would like to use. I know the song i am going to use and i have the camera to record with.
  • Claire Godenzi

So far i have written my list of 35+ beliefs and i am narrowing them down to my favorite 25 that i want to incorporate into my video. I have brainstormed the type and format of possible video styles i could use and I'm fairly sure that i know what i am going to do for my own video. All that is left for me to do now is to get my props together, charge my camera, film and then edit the whole thing together to my liking. This editing process might be difficult as i have never done what i am attempting to do with film before on the editing software that i use and this is kinda scary. Although, with a little research and trial and error i feel that i will be able to get it down.
