Un muy buen articulo del LA Times, que nos narra los aspectos más importantes del nacimiento del internet. Sirve mucho para complementar el análisis que nos presenta el texto de Castells.

... padrísima la visión "no ficción" del creador de ciencia ficción :-) Lo que no alcanzó a preveer era la Internet interactiva... y la co-construcción colectiva y el rol de la diversidad y el acceso a otros mundos, que son quizá más clave en esta sociedad que el puro acceso a la información

Although sub-research on the field studying women contributing to free software and hackers cultures is very limited, it also points to women's low participation rates. However, behind these figures and the discourses that accompany them, other, hidden situations may appear: on the one hand, the existence of some women who do participate and might have been invisible before, on the other the widespread assumption that women are not interested or have an innate inability to engage with technology on a deeper level. The aim of this animation is to actively oppose the prejudice that there are no significant women behind the development of sciences and technologies. This is the result of a systematic negation and invisibility of women in those specific histories. This drives to a lack of role models which perpetuate the women off-the-loop relation with ICT. Finding and making visible those stories is an important element to re-appropriate historical and collective memory and enable the emergence of new imaginaries which we hoped to be very much radical and feminists!"

Recomendación de Socratea como respuesta a una idea de José Carlos... y para mí, invitación a ir más allá, a otras visiones. Su comentario "Más que estudiar la historia de Internet creo que hay que ser arqueólogos y historiadorxs críticxs, recuperar otras narrativas que amplíen la miopía histórica occidental patriarcal de las "Ciencias"."

Este artículo toca el tema de la contracultura que forma parte de los orígenes de Internet. Me parece apropiado también para el estudio del tema "Autor-obra-licenciamientos en el desarrollo cultural y el científico-tecnológico" porque se habla sobre el libre acceso a la información, la inteligencia colectiva, entre otros temas.

Este artículo me pareció interesante porque habla de una forma muy sencilla sobre la piratería en libros, música, películas y programas informáticos. Lo que me llama la atención es que menciona ambas caras de la moneda: el tráfico de obras protegidas por el derecho de autor tiene repercusiones negativas en las industrias culturales; pero si se frena, se estaría limitando el derecho de acceso a la información.
