One of comic book superhero Batman's arch nemesis The Joker first appeared in the 1940 comic Batman #1 but he didn't appear on tv until 1966 in the Adam West version of Batman. Bob Kane, Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson were the co-creators of The Joker. However once again Bob Kane has a different story about The Joker's creations. The Joker was drawn to look like a photographer of Conrad Veidt as he was in The Man Who Laughs (1928) and the name came from the playing cards which Finger had brought in one day. The Joker has also gone by many other aliases, The Clown Prince of Crime, Red Hood, Jack, Joseph 'Joe' Kerr, Clem Rusty, Mr. Rekoj, Jack White. 1948 brought in a new Super Villain for comic book superhero Batman and Robin, Edward Nigma, in the disguise of The Riddler. No matter how hard he tried not to send a riddle, he just couldn't resist it.

This Super Villain was designed by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and was inspired by the Kool cigarettes mascot, a penguin with a top hat and cane. When the Penguin first came out, he was to be more of a "gentlemen thief" as opposed to psychotic like the rest of Batman's bad guys. There was also times when he tried to make it look like he was trying to go legit and help Batman instead of fighting him. But it never lasted.

In the 1960s, Catwoman's catsuit was green in color, which was typical of villains of that era. In the 1990s, she usually wore a skintight purple catsuit, before switching to a black PVC catsuit that recalls Michelle Pfeiffer's costume in Batman Returns. In recent years, artists depictions have usually alternated between those two costumes. Ed Brubaker, the writer behind the 2001 revamp of the character, has stated that Selina's current costume was inspired by Emma Peel's iconic leather catsuit in The Avengers TV series. It has a more high tech look, with domino-shaped infrared goggles on her cowl.

Comic Books are basically a lot like the soap operas, they get a little far fetched at times and the Batman series isn't any different. Batgirl not only has gone through a lot of transformation with just her attire and in the movie but she's gone through actual character changes as well through out the years. There has been seven different 'character names' for Batgirl over the years and for a lot of them they weren't just Batgirl. So lets have a look at who's actually been the secret identity of Batgirl.

In 1956, Bob Kane and Sheldon Moldoff decided Batman and Robin both needed female counterparts in order to stave off the gay rumors about these characters and voila Batwoman appeared, aka Kathy Kane (issue #233 in Detective Comics) for Batman and then in 1961 Batgirl, aka Betty Kane (issue #139 in the Batman comics) appeared as a sidekick for Batwoman. When Julius Swartz took over as editor both of these Batwoman and Batgirl characters were taken out and were replaced in 1967 by the Barbara Gordon 'Batgirl' (issue #359 in Detective Comics). But in this lens, we'll have a look at the wonderful actresses who have played 'Batgirl' over the years in the television series, movies and the animation of all the versions of Batman.

Halloween is the one night of the year when you get to dress up and be someone else. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love to see the kids coming to the door in their cute little costumes. I love to see all the houses decorated up with the ghost, goblins and witches.I was always torn between wanting to stay at home and see all the kids come to the door and taking my kids out myself and watching them have a blast.
