Housing prices in Chinese cities has decreased while the government still curbs the property market, according to figures from their biggest real estate website last week.   China Real Estate Index System, connected with SouFun Holdings, issued an alert that property prices has last month has marked the biggest fall since September.   Prices of residential houses slip in 72 out of 100 cities surveyed by the firm in the previous month which is 12 more than in January. It basically dropped by 0.3%, according to SouFun. The average housing price is now at USD 1,390 for one square meter, compared to the rates in January.   The report from CREIS shows that the decline size is set to be even bigger in the coming months as more developers offer discounts.   According to a manager of Beijing WorldUnion Properties Consultancy, there is a possibility that the market may bottom out on the middle of the year and price declines might pick up pace. Sony, the giant Japanese electronics maker, plans to cut 6% of its workforce or around 10,000 jobs as they continue with their efforts to restructure their business, the 3rd job cut since 2005. It has already sold 2 divisions and is now scaling back its TV production.   According to Bloomberg's data, the biggest consumer electronics exporter in Japan has 168,200 staff last year. Around half of the job cuts resulted from publicized deals the company has previously made. Last month, Sony sold a chemicals subsidiary to the Development Bank of Japan while it spun off small LCD production last year into a joint deal with Toshiba and Hitachi. The remaining 5,000 job cuts will come from its unprofitable TV division that is now being overhauled in hopes of restoring the firm's health.   The 51-year old CEO, Kazuo Hirai, replaced Howard Stringer this month and immediately set out to do his promise of "unavoidable, painful choices" in order to turn the company's operations into a more profitable one.   Hirai has been credited in making the PlayStation business profitable; now he is set to put himself in charge of and bring a new team for the firm's TV business. Over 200 people have been arrested in connection with a massive bank card fraud that may have bilked banks and clients out of a billion yuan ($159 million), the Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday. The Ministry of Public Security detained 208 people in eight provinces and municipalities. Police said they confiscated thousands of bank cards and have frozen 150 bank accounts. Police in eight regions coordinated the bust on June 11, following a lengthy investigation of key suspects including a Taiwanese surnamed Wu and a South Korean surnamed Park. The investigation began in November 2011, when two Taiwanese were caught using a counterfeit bank card to withdraw cash from an automatic teller machine (ATM) in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, according to the ministry. A similarly faked card was used three days later when another suspect tried to withdraw money from an ATM on Jiefang Road in the city. The police investigation concludes that banks in South Korea and Thailand were the main targets of the swindle. Local police in Shaoxing confirmed to the Global Times yesterday that 146 suspects were arrested in the city alone. "All 208 suspects are now here for questioning, and no further details can be provided at the moment," a police officer surnamed Sun from Shaoxing public security bureau, told the Global Times. The Shanghai-based Oriental Morning Post reported that the bust involves the largest amount of money and the most suspects of any bank card fraud in China. It is not known how the gang may have managed to swindle hundreds of millions of yuan from Chinese ATMs without being detected earlier. Police say suspects in South Korea bought the phone numbers of bank clients online, and managed to scam them by posing as bank officials who were concerned their accounts were at risk, said Xinhua. I know that Bristol board is usually used for catalog and book covers, tickets, tags and printing brochures. But as a student of architecture and an avid designer, I use this kind of paper for my scale models (which, for those who are not familiar with the term, is a smaller physical version of something bigger, like a building or an automobile). I currently have several sets of two- and three-ply bristol papers that are used as walls of my scale models. One-ply is almost translucent so I rarely use them. Bristol, as it is commonly referred to, is a kind of paperboard which is ideal for tons of things and comes in a variety of colors. I love using Bristol paper because it's very versatile. I buy a whole bunch of them and stack them on my desk so I have something nice to use in various illustrations, technical drawings and even 2D art forms. Actually, illustration boards are also fine in such purposes but I find it impractical for you can only use one side of it. On the other hand, Bristol board have two working surfaces, so basically, you can use either or both sides. And because I normally use charcoal and crayon as my primary media form, vellum finish is more ideal for me. It has a moderate surface texture which is really apt for friction-based medium. Works well with pens, too! (But if you are more focused on using ink, choose the plate finish Bristol paper instead -- it's glass-like texture is better suited for ink.) The current brand I use is from Springhill Vellum Bristol. This Bristol paper works like a charm. And it's very accessible, even online. Just go to Amazon.com and search for Springhill Vellum Bristol Gold. One pack contains 5 sheets and weighs a total of 1 pound so it's not that costly even if you order online. And because I normally use charcoal and crayon as my primary media form, vellum finish is more ideal for me. It has a moderate surface texture which is really apt for friction-based medium. Works well with pens, too! (But if you are more focused on using ink, choose the plate finish Bristol paper instead -- it's glass-like texture is better suited for ink.) The current brand I use is from Springhill Vellum Bristol. This Bristol paper works like a charm. And it's very accessible, even online. Just go to Amazon.com and search for Springhill Vellum Bristol Gold. One pack contains 5 sheets and weighs a total of 1 pound so it's not that costly even if you order online. Their gold colored is consistent all throughout the papers and it is the exact hue I needed, too! I also found out it worked nicely when used in promotional materials (when I once ran out of specialty paper for our theater presentation).

The Pokemon Yellow app first appeared in the App Store of iOS this weekend and tons of users quickly jumped at the thought that Nintendo finally joined in the app sector, never mind that the developer name under the app is a certain 'House of Anime'. Soon enough, people who bought the 99-cent app ended up disappointed as they discovered the game does not work because it's just an unauthorized copy. The developer, Daniel Burford aka House of Anime, also authored other questionable apps like YuGiOh+ and Digimon+. In his entries, he is claiming that 'all copyrights and trademarks are owned by their respective owners', obviously taking intellectual property rights lightly.   And most of the people who downloaded the game does not even know the it's not official, which just shows how popular the Pokemon franchise is even after 10 years of being in the market and its first appearance in the Game Boy. User reviews that rated the app with just one star and commented that the game does not do anything except display the title screen. And according to further reports from victims, it crashes on practically every device. It won't be surprising if the game's code only contains a bit of user interface to show that splash screen.
