Multimedia search tool. Interesting but it may not be totally safe for classroom use. Would be interesting to use with an IWB because of the multimedia experience.
This lesson explores the use of verbs to add dramatic interest to poems. The activities will encourage pupils to think more carefully about the use of verbs to describe action and should enable them to develop their knowledge of verbs and stimulate them to write more descriptive poems. The whiteboard activities will encourage whole class/group discussion, collaboration and participation.

View over 2,000 films from the Prelinger Archives!
Prelinger Archives was founded in 1983 by Rick Prelinger in New York City. Over the next twenty years, it grew into a collection of over 60,000 "ephemeral" (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films. In 2002, the film collection was acquired by the Library of Congress, Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division. Prelinger Archives remains in existence, holding approximately 4,000 titles on videotape and a smaller collection of film materials acquired subsequent to the Library of Congress transaction. Its goal remains to collect, preserve, and facilitate access to films of historic significance that haven't been collected elsewhere. Included are films produced by and for many hundreds of important US corporations, nonprofit organizations, trade associations, community and interest groups, and educational institutions.
Below you will find 50+ web tools you can use to create your own web-based story. Again, the mission is not to review or try every single one (that would be madness, I know), but pick one that sounds interesting and see if you can produce something. I have used each tool to produce an example of Dominoe story and links are provided, where available, to examples by other people. Please share your own examples or thoughts in the discussion area of this wiki.
Worldmapper is a collection of world maps, where territories are re-sized on each map according to the subject of interest.
There are now nearly 600 maps. Maps 1-366 are also available as PDF posters.
Find photos on flickr by browsing and refining related tags.
Click here to start (you need to enter the initial tag).

The most interesting feature of this experiment is the ability to refine your search by eliminating tags. When you click on a tag, flickr returns that tag's list of related tags. Findr then compares that list with the previous list(s) of tags and displays the intersection. So, instead of forgetting about previous searches, findr allows you to drill down within a tag set.
New and interesting information related to Smart Board use in education. From The Teacher Center of Broome County is one of 133 New York State funded teacher resource and computer training centers.
These are maps of individual countries with separate images of drawing pins. The vector maps include France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland and the UK and more. With these templates you can insert the "pins" into places of interest and then label them as you wish. These can be used in PowerPoint slides, in web pages and blogs, or anywhere else where they may be helpful. At the moment we have maps of most European countries, also we have free editable PowerPoint maps of North America and now editable world maps.
We extracted the colours from 10 million of the most "interesting" Creative Commons images on Flickr. Using our visual similarity technology you can navigate the collection by colour.
Interactive technology in the classroom
My name is Danny Nicholson and I am a freelance educational consultant. My main specialty is the use of Interactive Whiteboards, but I am interested in lots of different bits of tech that are now being used in schools.
Using Cramberry to study is simple. First, you create a blank "set" of flashcards. Cramberry will prompt you to give your set a name. All of your flashcards are stored in sets. Once you've created a blank set, Cramberry will help you add cards to the set. Adding cards with Cramberry is as simple as it is with traditional flashcards: just type in the text you want on the front and back of the card, and click on "add another card" to add another card to the set. Once you're satisfied with the amount of cards you have in your new set, click "finish".
