This website has videos that hit on the main points of many different science lessons. These videos are not long and even have a short quiz at the end. My cooperating teacher used these at the end of her lessons because the students looked forward to watching a movie. Some of these videos are free, but to view all of them you must have an account.

This is a great website for science lesson plans. I really like how it gives you all of the worksheets you need to use during the lesson. It also shows you different links that are related to the lesson that might be good to supplement your lesson with. There is also plenty of teacher resources such as articles, tips, themes, and printables. I would use this for lesson plan ideas along with supplemental materials.

This website is the place to start if anyone has ever wanted to explore the biology of Alaska, Denali, and the lands around Mt. McKinley. Lessons on backpacking, wilderness as the classroom, rafting, camping and even a bug camp are available. Costs cover expenses for guides, food, and supplies. Programs for all grades are available. Camp location is about 1 hour south of Fairbanks, Alaska within the boundary of Denali National Park.

This website is really cool. There is a ton of great information on topics that I think would be interesting for kids of all ages. The images included with the information are awesome.

This site contains activities and projects for students to work on like creating their own space probe or looking at interactive maps. Its full of videos, current events, extra teaching resources and even describes way that everyone can get involved with helping the environment. It's a great interdiciplinary resource that can tie together a broad range of subjects and topics. The webiste resources are free but the magazine subsription does cost money. In addition to the teacher resources link there is also a special page just for young learners that includes music, games, movies, and more.

I picked this site because it was very fun and colorful! There were moving diagrams to show how the planets rotate around the sun as well as interactive games. There was information on the solar system as a whole as well as links to each of the planets and the planets' moons. Very educational! I would use this in my classroom as a center on the computer. I would have different centers set up around the room for the children to explore, and this would be an interactive website that would offer information to the students.

This is a website from a first grade teacher's blog. I am using the pictures for a craft idea that I would use for my lesson plan. To understand the life cycle of a plant, the students would need to have a visual of all the parts of the plant. This is also great becuase they would label all of the parts and the elements of what a plant needs to survive. It is so cute, I love it!

This website could be used as a personal cheat sheet for me if the students ask me a question that I dont know the answer to right there. It can also be used for the students because it has all of the basic formulas the students will need.

Seems pretty advanced for middle school.

I know this is the wikipedia article for physics but it has a lot of good information on the history and need for physics. I could use this article as a starting point for any information I wanted or needed to know and if I find something that doesn't sound right I could double check it with one of the other websites I have saved.

This website is great because it is set up in a simple format with some pictures, and neat facts about mammals. It would be fairly easy for a 1st grader to navigate. It also relates to the standard 12.B.1a- Describe and compare characteristics of living things in relationship to their environments. It relates because it tells how mammals live in a variety of places, and gives examples of where they live (i.e. camels live in hot areas, with picture of camel).

This website was uploaded by BPS Elementary Science Exemplars Project. It is a great lesson plan on how to teach first graders to differentiate between living and nonliving things. This would be a great way for me to introduce the lesson plan to my class. I really like how it still has a lot of pictures to match with the words, in case some readers are not as advanced as others. This lesson plan is very kid friendly, and would be engaging for them, because I could also use several objects in the classroom/around the school to ask if it is living or non-living. After the students gave me their answer, I would then go into characteristics of each living or non-living thing.

Students can use this simulation to learn everything they want to know about the Solar System. This simulation allows students to click on each individual planet to learn more information and also allows students to locate the major stars and constellations found in our solar system. Students can also watch the planets orbit around the sun (in real time) and go to any day of any year to see where each planet was at that time. All for free! I selected this resource because I think it will really benefit visual and hands-on learners. Giving students the opportunity to research the Solar System on their own gives them a feeling of independence, even while they are learning. I think this resource is very valuable in the classroom because it provides a lot of information about everything there is in the Solar System. This resource could be used during a lesson about the Solar System. Students could each be given an individual planet, star, or constellation to research, and students could create a poster with information on their individual planet, star, or constellation. This resource would benefit in their researching.

This online activity gives students an opportunity to use riddle descriptions to match to an animal. The website also allows students to take a virtual hike and discusses the idea of preserving our national parks, seashores, and preserves. Teachers could use this to review a lesson on animals or open a lesson to students who want to know more about animal habitats.

So excited about the virtual hike option!! I love it! Would be good for relating to concepts of biome as well.

Grade level- K-5 This is a great website that has alot of games for kids. I believe it would be good for grades K-5. It covers many topics about science including bugs, animals, ozone, and ways to go green. I think this resource would be a great resource to use in the classroom to incorporate computers. It is also a good way to get kids out of the regular classroom and lecture. Many children learn very well from the computer. This resource is also a great resource for teachers, because it has many printables and and videos that can be incorporated into the classroom.

During this activity students will complete a worksheet (that is attached on the bottom of the website) where they will gather information about each planet. I like that the information that is needed to complete the worksheet is quite extensive compared to other worksheets. This webquest could be used as a lesson one day to break up the tediousness of sitting in a desk and reading from the book. I like that it incorporates technology in the classroom by allowing students to use computers.

Teach your child about saturation, evaporation, and crystallization with a simple kitchen concoction that will leave her hungry for more chemistry." Who doesn't love food? I know kids do! This website outlines the materials and process necessary to make crystallized lollipops. This allows for the students to understand concepts of boiling water, dissolving, super saturation, evaporation, etc. Science concepts can even be explained using something as fun as food-and the lesson can end with a yummy treat!

This website is a great resource to check out when learning about plant and animal reproduction. It is very insightful with different kinds of other resources such as animations, pictures, activities, quizzes, and much more. I personally liked this as a teaching resource that I could use when covering plant and animal reproduction to help further the students knowledge about reproduction and help them as well as me understand it better.

I would use this website in my classroom to give examples of ways I could get my students to learn to recycle and stay green. I would point out that this does not necessarily mean to just recycle plastic and paper, but that there are other ways to keep the environment clean and thriving.

This bird feed project requires students to create a bird feed out of recyclable objects. Instead of using things provided like the website says, I would have each child bring something to school out of their recycle bins to use on this bird feeder as a classroom conservation project.

I would use this during my lesson/teaching time with my children before most activities and projects. This website gives a page of facts about recycling and each material that is recyclable.
