4 things PR pros should never say to reporters - 3 views

  •
Tthis is a helpful read to squash some bad PR habits.
  •
This one really grabbed my attention Corinne! I was really expecting to see the phrase, "I don't know" in there as well, but maybe that one is too obvious. In the few jobs I've had that required speaking to the media, it was really stressed to never say "I don't know," even if you really didn't know how to answer the question.

Your Election Day Nagging Is Making People Quit Twitter - 0 views

So even though we are very pro-social media and information sharing, this article shows the other side of the coin. Apparently many people were annoyed with being bombarded with election related votes - something that I hadn't considered until now. Pretty interesting read.

Facebook & Work: Will Friending Your Manager Help Your Career? Read more: http://busin... - 0 views

Interesting article about the increasing blend of work life and personal life. I'm not sure if I'd advocate adding a friend on Facebook - while I can control my own posts I'm not sure I can trust that I'd be able to manage my Facebook in a way that would absolutely ensure a manager wouldn't see an undesirable post from someone else before I had time to delete it.

Tory MP says government should do something about anonymous online comments - 0 views

  •
Incredibly relevant given our discussion in class today. I know what I said this morning about not believing anonymous comments to be integral to free speech, but I have to say I'm not at all keen on the proposal of this type of law.

Lady Gaga's Littlemonsters.com: Why It Works and What It Means for Social Media Read mo... - 0 views

This is really interesting article following the ways in which Lady Gaga has capitalized on using social media to promote her brand - especially now that she has her own social networking site for her fans that launched earlier this summer. I don't consider myself an avid fan of hers, but I'm really impressed with the way she uses social media to interact and connect with her fans; which is basically the only reason why I follow her on Twitter.

Wow, this is a pretty amazing thing. And a great article for synchronous tech! Please have a look. This revolutionary five-experiment exhibition highlights the way technology allows people to connect and engage with each other in real-time. It's the online component of a year-long physical exhibition in London's Science Museum featuring a series of interactive Chrome Experiments that bring the intricacies of the web to life. In what is a truly global exhibit museum visitors can interact with the technology at the same time as online participants.
