Research Toolkit 2012

A useful site that can be used as a starting point to understand other religions and their viewpoint on ethical issues.  I often use it as a reference when teaching both junior and senior RE.

Just recently discovered this site & its 7 Billion people special. Great stuff to use with students

A primary school teacher sharing resources, practical ideas and thoughts on blogging, global collaboration and technology integration. educators can subscribe to newsletter that has step by step instructions on how to use web tools.

The first time I shared this I did so by sharing with PLN group rather than resaerch toolkit.. To share again I needed to go to edit, tick share to group, choose research toolkit from drop down menu and then go to save.

This is a great complementary tool to the ABS site facility for students to create their own personal demographic profile.

I re-found (is that even a word?) this website in my Delicious account- I suspect I originally stumbled across it while doing the VicPLN course earlier in the year. At the time, I thought it would be a great one to come back & explore. I still do. It contains a lot of information on Creative Commons...some of it a useful starting point for a discussion with students.

Lots of historical documents can be found here. Wills and probate before 1925 can now be viewed in digital form and can be downloaded. Great for those researching their Victoria family history.

One of the richest repositories of primary sources. Read the proceedings of the Parliament during the Civil War or (depending on your Latin) records from the 13th century or look up the Ordnance maps from 1854.

This website accompanies the excellent Australian Photography magazine and provides plenty of information on cameras and photography for the professional and aspiring photographer. It provides tutorials and inspiration galore.
