Transmedia storytelling is about telling a story in different forms, across different media. The prefix "trans" means across, and "media" refers to tools (or forms of communication) one can use to convey information, so trans-media storytelling involves telling a story that unfolds across various forms.

Please attribute (draft in further development with other assets). This cross-genre, new format, online story development sheet should be printed A3 and ideas for each area can be sketched in. It helps media creators understand how to develop across multiple online channels and spaces and what fragments of the story can be cross connected. It is suggested that you number each instance with the 'release' date to help aid the campaign thinking. The axes indicate the likely 'maintenance' required - top right most maintenance (rich living environments) and bottom left least maintenance (ad hoc textual updates). Below you will find 50+ web tools you can use to create your own web-based story. Again, the mission is not to review or try every single one (that would be madness, I know), but pick one that sounds interesting and see if you can produce something. I have used each tool to produce an example of the original Dominoe story, plus links are provided, where available, to examples by other people. Please share your own examples or thoughts in the discussion area of this wiki.

When kids at the Suffern Middle School were asked to talk about education and their future, they gave Peggy Sheehy, the SMS media specialist, an earful. Listen and learn the bits of wisdom that can be gleaned from the students, if we only dare to ask them. Students from The Elisabeth Morrow School Tech Club contributed machinima created in Quest Atlantis. Marianne Malmstrom (aka Knowclue) worked remotely with the students of Suffern to create machinima of their avatars. Original music, "Harpsicord" was created by a former Suffern Middle School student, Larry Bordowitz. All editing was done by Peggy Sheehy and Marianne Malmstrom.

If you're trying to change someone's behavior, don't be so direct about your points... Use a story that connects to some universal truth about the subject-at-hand.  Give people a way to see the high-level consequences of their behavior, good or bad, and they may identify with your words in a whole new way.
