Internet4Classrooms - Helping Teachers Use the Internet Effectively - 0 views

This is an excellent resource for teachers who want to put technology into their classrooms. This site is geared more for home schooling kids, but I use it all the time. There are tons of sites you can use for all grade levels. Once you go to the grade level you want, you then can look at it for each specific subject area. This has been a wonderful source that I use for my Computer Center for guided reading.

Welcome to Google Lit Trips! - 1 views

This works with google earth. Teachers can create lessons on google earth that are centered around literature. This will take the student to the place on the "map". The teacher can embed bits or bytes of information there for the student to view.

Ning - 1 views

Social networking at your fingertips! This site allows you to set up, create, and personalize your OWN social network. It's yours. Your brand and visual design. Your choice of public or private. Your very own members. Everything is created by YOU for YOU! Imagine the possibilities with Ning in Education!

I wondered what Ning was! Thanks!

Create and discover social networks for your interests. Connect with people that have the same ideas, beliefs, concerns etc. Create a page that centers around you. This could be used in education to connect to your students and incorporate technology into the classroom. This site could be used in multiple ways within your classroom and district. This would be a great way to connect with your students. I believe that allowing your students to chat on a site like Ning would make them more likely to participate in classroom discussion. Sites like these are the things that our students do everyday.

The tutorials on this page are very good and are worth the time. Some of the live tutorials were frustrating because you needed a phone and a computer, but you have a live instructor and that is worth a great deal. The techniques, the fun, the time involved were very different yet the same as making a PowerPoint only with a twist.

You've got to check this one out, especially if you are or plan to be an elementary school librarian. This librarian, Keisa Williams, has such great ideas. She even talks about some of the professional development she has done with the staff. Awesome!
