Create and discover social networks for your interests. Connect with people that have the same ideas, beliefs, concerns etc. Create a page that centers around you. This could be used in education to connect to your students and incorporate technology into the classroom. This site could be used in multiple ways within your classroom and district. This would be a great way to connect with your students. I believe that allowing your students to chat on a site like Ning would make them more likely to participate in classroom discussion. Sites like these are the things that our students do everyday.

LearningTimes.org is an open community for education and training professionals. Members have free access to a wide range of opportunities to interact and network with peers from across the globe. This would be good for my school and district. It would be a good place to collaborate and interact with each other.

This site allows you to share the books you have read with others and let them know what you thought about it. It also lets you choose books you want to read and has the capability of letting others tell you what they thought about those books. It is a great social network for all kinds of readers.

This is a professional networking site where educators can learn about what is happening in technology in the classroom by following the latest news in Ed Tech, sharing content such as favorite webpages, lessons, video, audio, and written content. Visitors are encouraged to join in and add content.

A great resource for personal learning. I enjoyed listening to several podcasts.

This site is for teachers, parents, and students. It provides a large number of programs and free tools for students in all subject areas. Teachers can join the Discovery Educators Network to collaborate with other teachers around the world. There are also a large number of lesson plan resources for teachers as well.

I use this website atleast once a week in my classroom. If it isn't this it is YouTube! There is usually everything for everyone, except the Chemistry vids are lacking.

This website has great articles dealing with libraries and stories that keep you up to date on whats up and coming. It also is a great tool that has tips on social networking, and interesting literature-related videos.

This site has tons of information for those wanting to use blogs in the classroom. The blogs are geared specially for anyone in the field of education. You can find tips on how to manage your blogs and how to get students involved.

This is a cool platform for those who would like to experiment with classroom blogs. I liked it for my students because unlike other platforms like Blogger and Word Press, the students do not have to have an email account to sign in.
