This wiki contains lots of ideas and information for librarians. Anyone can add or edit topics. The nice thing about this site is that it is very organized. If you want information about a certain topic, it is easy to find.

You can listen to podcasts of booktalks at this site. This would be great for students who can't seem to find a good book to read. The books chosen are Isinglass Teen Read Award Nominees - this is a teen book award in New Hampshire, but I am sure these books are popular all over!

You've got to check this one out, especially if you are or plan to be an elementary school librarian. This librarian, Keisa Williams, has such great ideas. She even talks about some of the professional development she has done with the staff. Awesome!

I was introduced to this site in another class I have taken through PSU and find it to be really powerful. TED stands for Technology Entertainment Design. This site goes beyond technologies for the classroom, and discusses real life technologies…some our students might be using in the future. This site contains a number of videos. The videos discuss a variety of topics, more than just technology. Two such videos that would be really thought provoking and/or great conversation pieces for a professional development day are found at the following links: http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/taylor_mali_what_teachers_make.html http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html

  • Then around 2004 a birth of new web tools began to pop up. These tools allowed common people like us to add content to the web. People with no programming skills were suddenly publishing their own journals, photographs, videos, auctions, podcasts, wikis, slideshows and more. The web became a two-way street

  • Will this genuinely enhance my ability (and that of my students) to live at the upper end of Bloom's taxonomy?

Great question to ask ourselves when it comes to all that we do within our classrooms.
