He posted many interesting articles and blogs posts that have been very helpful in expanding my thinking about Emotional Intellegence. An interesting one he recently posted is "Be Mindful of the Emotions" you leave behind. Daniel Goleman lectures frequently to business audiences, professional groups and on college campuses. A psychologist who for many years reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for The New York Times, Dr. Goleman previously was a visiting faculty member at Harvard.

Corporate Education Group (CEG) offers exceptional courses, training, and certificate programs in the areas of project management, business analysis, business process management, and management and leadership.

This is a great tool to make graphic representations for projects.

Hootsuite is a media management tool that could be useful in communication, collaboration and stakeholder buy in. You can schedule updates and communication in one spot to share with others over multiple social networks such as twitter, linked in or facebook.

Celoxis is a web based project management system, ideal for small teams and small projects to large multimillion dollar enterprise projects. SaaS or on-premise options.

Brain Rules by John J. Medina is a multimedia project explaining how the brain works. It includes a book, a feature-length documentary film, and a series of interactive tutorials. *Information in this book helps PM's to understand some of the dynamics of the human brain and to reflect on how making small changes can have lasting effects. Example - having a meeting while going for a walk or that vision trumps all other senses.*

WBS Tool is a free web software for building Project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), WBS Charts, Organograms and other types of hierarchies. The Tool works with any web browser with the adobe flash plugin installed. Simple to use.

I like that you do not have to create a log in to use the program. Also the ease of use. Very intuitive.

The tool is very intuitive to use. It has the ability to export as an image, word document or MS project file. That's an important feature. Looks like a great tool.

Understanding and playing to peoples strengths is key. When people on a team recognize both their own and others strengths then assign tasks accordingly then the team works better and projects are completed at a high level of quality.

Projects sometimes seem to take on a life of their own. Figuring out why people react or believe is important because projects are completed by a team for groups of people. Book Quote "Blink reveals that great decision makers aren't those who process the most".

WBS is an acronym for "Work Breakdown Structure". Simply said it is the work required to break PM down . It is true that PMs are usually overburdened with project work they are on the verge of breaking down. However, WBS makes PMs life easy.

Having seen the previous post on Evernote, I thought I'd add my alternative to it . I use Springpad to keep track of smaller projects on the go and various "to do" lists.

I really need to bite the bullet and incorporate something like this for travel/busy weeks. Have you tried Evernote? If so, why do you prefer Springpad? Thanks.

I thought this laid out the various skills a PM must have in a clear way and compared the emotional (soft) and technical (hard) skills well.

Good article, I heard of four of the styles but 2 were new to me. Affiliative and pacesetting were interesting. I like the affililiative as they are team focused and work to lead a cohesive unit. I didn't care for the pacesetting but do see how in some situation they can be useful like with government regulations. Thanks for sharing the article.
