Reflections on Faculty Research Expectations

This statement is from the Provosts Office. That makes me think they really are committed to a work-life balance. - ERR Penn is committed to supporting our faculty and staff as they balance the competing demands of work and personal life. That's why we offer a wide variety of programs and resources to help you care for your health, your family, and your worklife balance.

This is a report on a study that was conducted on the work-life balance at SCU. As expected, the study includes surveys and interviews. I am impressed that an administration would care so much that they would spend the resources on conducting a study on w0rk-life balance.

As I mentioned, there are not many websites that are or have portfolios for IT. I did find this site that gives dozens of examples of what portfolios could like it. I am an academic going through my midtenure review. It's a process whereby senior colleagues in my department, along with other supervisors, review my job performance for the past two and a half years and make comments on whether I am on track to earn tenure.

There are so many topics and pieces to choose from! I've had friends whose department paid for the pro development opportunities she hosts and have shared amazing feedback about the community building and networking.

I share PGB again as his website is incredibly unique and chock full of resources, including his research, teaching philosophy, social media presence, and institutions he has collaborated with. It is a busy, yet comprehensive site.

Marybeth Gasman, Professor of Higher Education, University of Pennsylvania - a contemporary site, her portfolio is visually engaging and offers direct links to her publications.

Dr. Flowers, Clemson University Educational Leadership. A more traditional site housed on the university server, this site offers a different take on a portfolio and doesn't offer directive links to projects/current research.

Dissertation on work-life balance in academy; interesting read, but is long -- as fitting a diss.
