What is interesting to me, got me thinking (oh oh she is thinking again ha), we are central Oregon BUT we are not central Oregon.
We are not included in many central Oregon happenings. People think of Bend and Redmond when thinking of Central Oregon.
This is from a local writer who just happens to still be in high school.
He has been writing now for years and just this year has gotten the confidence to go public. This is his poem, with my central Oregon sunset photograph.
Sunrise In Central Oregon. We usually head into Madras, than head to Prineville Oregon to go up in the Ochoco Mountains. This is what the sky looked like heading to Prineville Oregon Saturday.
Nature is a wondrous thing. At times doing things that frankly, amazes us!
The selenelion effect made these photographs come out rather neat looking, only with some cropping done. This selenelion effect is when both the eclipsed moon and the sun can be seen at the same time. Of course I get what I am given and these photographs are what I got. A well known fact is, I dont do night time photography.
It was so cold Saturday morning here in Jefferson County Oregon!!
Without much more talking, here are my photographs from the Lunar Eclipse here in Central Oregon.
Central Oregon Field Burn. People were asking about my dragonfly photo, and how I was getting the bugs to stay still. Predators will wait for bugs or critters to run from the fire. This is the neighboring farm to the land our horses are on. This goes on every year! It is controlled and really it is either this, or chemicals.... I guess. For us with allergies it is not the best thing.
Central Oregon Crawdad. I love seeing wildlife in our waters, means our waters here in Oregon are healthy. Found this and other crawdad's in the South Fork of the Crooked River. I left them be to live and produce more crawdads.
We have several of these herons around this part of central Oregon.
I would of thought they would leave when the snow started falling, but this bird proved me wrong!
It was foggy, it was cold and it was snowing Sunday! But here this bird was!
Been pretty busy the last couple of days, today has been no different.
Guy said lets go! So I was ready in no time and out the door we went.
We went to watch the sunrise this morning. I caught Guy leaning on one of the fence posts.
This is a Sagebrush Mariposa Lily, I sometimes call it a tulip. These grow wild here in our part of Central Oregon and can be seen with different creatures on it for lunch.
"Buzkashi or Kokpar is the Central Asian sport played among Kazakhs, Afghans, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, Turkmens and Pashtuns. Buzkashi is often compared to polo. Both games are played between people on horseback, both involve propelling an object toward a goal, and both get fairly rough. However, polo is played with a ball, and buzkashi is played with a headless goat carcass" wikipedia.
One morning heading out we saw a hot air balloon in the sky.
Than we seen another, and another!!
Before we new it we went around the block to see them all.
Of course our blocks can be rather long, and walking is not a great idea. It might take all day long!
But here is one of the hot air balloons.
