Matson K on 11 Jan 11This site is really cool. They have statistics and facts about poverty. And then you can test your knowledge with a Hunger Quiz. And there is a section about the Hunger in America.

Buchbinder A on 11 Jan 11I was so sad when i found out that in 2009, 15.5 million (20.7 percent) children under the age of 18 were in poverty. Just imagen there could be some in are class.
-
Foster H on 12 Jan 11it was sad that throughout the years the percent tile has increased but it is a good thing that some of the numbers are going down aswell. that means people are getting better with their life. :D but its still veeery sad that people have to live like this.

Goldblum J on 12 Jan 11All the statistics started to scare me. With all of the percentages and numbers, and with them RISING< it just is kind of worrying me.

Mullet K on 12 Jan 11I can't believe 11% of all families are in poverty. That's about one in ten families. I know at least ten families... It's too bad that there is enough money and resources for everyone, but after preschool, everyone forgot how to share. Imagine how the world would be more serene if everyone had the same amount of money.

Eyen J on 12 Jan 11I was surprised to hear that 5.6 million people in the U.S. have used food pantries, that is a lot more than I thought.
-
Hyre A on 12 Jan 11i never knew how big of an impact food pantries had. i was surprised that 4.8% of people in the US had to go to a food pantry once...i thought only a few homeless people went there. and that 57% of people in poverty get reduced lunches in school...i could not imagine how embarassing that would be.

Carnahan H on 12 Jan 11I really like how you can quiz yourself on poverty. I learned a lot from that. Some information was very surprising but at the same time very depressing/sad.
-
Borror D on 12 Jan 11Woah. Holy crap, I didn't know that there was so much poverty in the world. when I read those statistics I was like O_O
-
Walouke A on 12 Jan 11"In 2009, 5.7 percent of households (6.8 million households) experienced very low food security." That could anyone you know. This tells what Mrs. Smith and what Mrs. Lanka was saying that you could know people that are in poverty but aren't aware.
-
Baker M on 13 Jan 11Whoa. That was some high statistics. And that one about kids at the beginning , i was all "Awwwww thats so sad." :'(
-
Sawyer T on 13 Jan 11I like how you can quiz yourslef over poverty. The stastics and facts are really eye opening/ interesting to learn about.
-
Smyth C on 13 Jan 11i got a hundred percent on the quiz! But it was really eye opening to find out that most people in poverty aren't in urban settings.
-
Cooperman H on 13 Jan 11This is a great website. I love how it has all the statistics. It's just really sad to see how bad poverty has gotten over the years :^(
-
Estice H on 13 Jan 11I was really surprised by how many people are in poverty and how fast it was rising.
-
Teets S on 13 Jan 11All these stats iterally made my jaw drop. I'm sure everyone would agree that these are very weighted words.
-
Bolon T on 13 Jan 11I couldn't believe how many people were in poverty and how how fast it was rising. When i read this i wanted to donate food to food pantries so people in poverty could have more to eat.

Omar H on 14 Jan 11I found it very shocking by how much the poverty rate increased from 2008 to 2009. It didnt even show 2010 or 2011 which means it must have rapidly increased again. Its a great website but a very sad one.
