Red Bee Media has created a personalised Facebook app to drive viewers to season two of The Walking Dead on FOX. The app, aimed at the Facebook fans of the show, as well as family and friends, focusses on a POV film. The film looks at what it is like to be 'left behind' by the walking dead, and uses Facebook Connect and users' webcams to create a personalised experience.  The app goes live early this month.

Creating a computer "personality" is as much an art as it is a science, and it's a challenge that more and more software designers are grappling with.

Forum theatre is a type of theatre created by the innovative and influential practitioner Augusto Boal as part of what he calls his "Theatre of the Oppressed." Boal created Forum theatre as a forum for teaching people how to change their world. While practicing earlier in his career, Boal would apply 'simultaneous dramaturgy'. In this process the actors or audience members could stop a performance, often a short scene in which a character was being oppressed in some way. The audience would suggest different actions for the actors to carry out on-stage in an attempt to change the outcome of what they were seeing. This was an attempt to undo the traditional actor partition and bring audience members into the performance, to have an input into the dramatic action they were watching. Eventually this 'simultaneous dramaturgy' became Forum theatre when audience members were asked not just to suggest different actions, but to come on stage and perform their own interventions.

Korsakow, a software to create interactive films for the web. Korsakow is not a tool to create a story, it is a tool to weave a web of stories.

Neurofiction is a new kind of literary experience, created with the support of New Media Scotland.

"Ambient Literature is a two-year collaboration between UWE Bristol, Bath Spa University and the University of Birmingham, established to investigate the locational and technological future of the book. Funded through a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the project is focused on the study of emergent forms of literature that make use of novel technologies and social practices in order to create robust and evocative experiences for readers. "

With 'Road Tales', Volkswagen wants to bring imagination back to where it has always belonged: the back seat. 'Road Tales' is developed for Dutch children between 4-11 years old and can be downloaded for free. The app uses a custom developed story-engine that creates unique tales based on the location of the user. To allow the stories to react to the environment, the Amsterdam based agency has scanned all Dutch highways to identify objects like bridges, windmills, trees, petrol stations and other main objects to transform them into story elements.

S3A is a major new five-year UK research collaboration between internationally leading experts in 3D audio and visual processing, the BBC and UK industry. The partnership aims to unlock the creative potential of 3D sound to provide immersive experiences to the general public at home or on the move. S3A will pioneer a radical new listener centred approach to 3D sound production that can dynamically adapt to the listeners' environment and location to create a sense of immersion. Current 3D sound systems rely upon fixed loudspeaker arrangements and acoustically treated rooms that are not practical for home use. S3A will change the way audio is produced and delivered to enable practical high-quality 3D sound reproduction based on listener perception.
