Google Wave is fairly new and it has just come out of beta testing and is now open to everyone with a Google account. The web app is part chat, part email with a whole lot of collaborative possibilities for education. How it is going to be used is still being determined at this point. It's fun to use!

start.io is a basic bookmarking site - allows the user to share a group of sites quickly with one short URL. An applet exists for Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. My start.io page can be found at http://start.io/altucker

only2clicks is a visual bookmarking site - pages can be marked private or public depending on your need. A small applet will allow you to add a site to only2clicks quickly. One disadvantage is the lack of keyword search and the window can get quite crowded. You can find my only2clicks site at this URL: http://www.only2clicks.com/pages/altucker

LiveBinders allows you to present a number of pages in one browser window. Easy interface allows you to create subject binders that you can share by making public. Again, multiple site links given with one URL. Linking sites to your binder with the toolbar applet that works with Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. Diigo is the best of the lot in my opinion! Not only are you bookmarking, you're creating a community of people interested in the same subject. Text on a site can be highlighted, annotated and discussed using Diigo. It's a perfect way for students to discuss a site's content and for them to share their web with you. Netvibes is considered one of the best mashup tools on the internet. A mashup is a web page that uses and combines data, presentation or functionality from two or more sources to create new compilations. They generally don't require programming skills to create.
