The March 22 edition of Computer Business Review includes the following article highlighting that California State University (CSU) will use Oracle's PeopleSoft Applications to standardize its 23-campus system and the Chancellor's Office, as well as manage its student academic operations.  The article notes that PeopleSoft Campus Solutions will enable the University to manage its student academic operations, including scheduling and registering for classes, calculating and collecting fees, awarding financial aid and assessing students' academic progress.

Highlighting that the Georgia Department of Administrative Services has implemented Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise applications, running on Oracle's Sun servers, to augment its supplier relationship management processes and procurement processes. The article notes that through Oracle PeopleSoft, the state was able to increase control by adding multiple approval levels and replace the paper-based, labor intensive process with an automated, electronic workflow, thereby enhancing the purchasing cards that many employees use.

Highlighting that Oracle has introduced Oracle Utilities Network Management System 1.11 to provide real-time views of grid activity to help properly align electricity generation with demand. The article notes that Oracle Utilities Network Management System 1.11 provides flexibility in integrating geographic information systems (GIS) investments, including new support for International Electrochemical Commission (IEC) Common Information Model (CIM) standards. The article also includes comments from Brad Williams, vice president of industry strategy, Oracle Utilities notes that Oracle Utilities Network Management System offers the real-time modeling and power system simulations utilities need to optimize grid operations as networks change.

A global consumer survey by Oracle has found that consumers are increasingly demanding a more technology-driven and global shopping experience.
