Österreichs Bildungssystem gehört - umgelegt auf die Zahl der Schüler und Studenten - zu den teuersten in der OECD. Das geht aus der soeben veröffentlichten OECD-Studie "Bildung auf einen Blick 2010" (Education at a Glance) hervor. Kategorie: OECD-Studie Erstellt am 07.09.2010. Die Ausgaben pro Schüler bzw. Student betrugen 2007 von der Volks- bis zur Hochschule 10.974 US-Dollar (kaufkraftbereinigt) pro Jahr - ein Wert, der deutlich über dem OECD-Schnitt von 8.216 Dollar liegt. Übertroffen wird das nur von den USA (14.269 Dollar), der Schweiz (13.031) und Norwegen (11.967).

Bei der für 1. Mai geplanten SuisseID-Einführung wird es vorerst keine Handy-basierte Lösung geben. Das hat Swisscom-Sprecher Olaf Schulze http://www.swisscom.com im Gespräch mit pressetext nun bestätigt. "Das Thema spielt derzeit definitiv keine Rolle. Es ist keine Lösung geplant", so Schulze. Die Swisscom galt neben den SuisseID-Anbietern SwissSign und QuoVadis als heißer Anwärter auf eine Mobiltelefon-basierte Umsetzung der SuisseID.

Auch das Internet hat sich verändert. Durch Phänomene wie Crowdsourcing kam es zu einer Amateurisierung ganzer Berufssparten. Ich denke, dass sich die Kulturindustrie langsam aus dem Würgegriff einiger Experten befreit. Das haben wir zu einem großen Teil dem Internet zu verdanken. Ich sage es immer wieder und ich habe es auch in mein Buch geschrieben: Ich halte diese Entwicklung für äußerst positiv.

Kritiker des Web 2.0 behaupten, dass die Flut an neuen Medien die Kommunikation zwischen Menschen derart verändert hat, dass sie nun fragmentiert und unpersönlich geworden ist. Sie arbeiten derzeit an einem journalistischen Projekt, bei dem Crowdsourcing benutzt wird, um Daten über das US-Gesundheitssystem zu erheben. In Österreich stecken diese Konzepte noch in den Kinderschuhen. Gibt es große Unterschiede zwischen Europa und den USA? Sind europäische Journalisten verschlossener gegenüber solchen Methoden? Ich denke, dass es Unterschiede gibt. In den USA erwägen immer mehr Medienunternehmen Crowdsourcing zu verwenden. Bei meinem Projekt geht es darum, Daten von Radiohörern zu sammeln und sich die Kosten für ihre Gesundheitsvorsorge anzusehen. Die Situation in Österreich kenne ich leider zu schlecht, um etwas darüber sagen zu können. Es gibt allerdings einige europäische Länder, die Crowdsourcing relativ früh aufgegriffen haben. Kurz nachdem mein Artikel darüber erschienen ist, gab es ein Experiment in den Niederlanden. Die Regierung hat dort versucht, die Bevölkerung durch Crowdsourcing in den Gesetzgebungsprozess einzubinden

It's like you wrote a blog post arguing that it is incorrect to refer to a 5' tall boy as 5' tall because he's often sitting down. Every single day every single public company in the world is valued by the last share traded, usually for a tiny fraction of the company.Finally, to the main point. Facebook has certainly figured out how to make money off of 500,000,000 users. And as they optimize, they will make a lot more money. When they figure out how to make another DIME off of every user, they will instantly be making another $50,000,000 a year... in pure profit. How much profit will 37signals make if you figure out how to make another dime off of every customer? Eh David? Facebook works on the theory that when you have a lot of people, you don't have to make as much per person, because the amount of money you make is the number of customers times the amount of money you make off of each one. Again, that pesky multiplication.

The bond and equity markets are based on sound regulation, transparency, and quarterly statements. Facebook has none of those things when it operates in the dark of the secondary markets.
