It is a great information website for those who struggle with today's integrated technology. This website displays classroom information and ways a parent can be more involved with their student's curriculum.

This site provides teachers a variety of tools and suggests elements to include in a classroom website. Some of these suggestions include blogs, wikis, Google sites, and many more. This website also presents ideas of what parents want to see.

Chose this resource because it allows creativity and variation in creating portfolios and what you include in them so that you or others will not get bored with the things that you include.

Hundreds of lessons are available, most of which include hands-on activities. This site has always been my favorite source of lesson ideas for this reason. I easily adapt the lessons to include technology and opportunities for the students to engage in research.

This website goes into detail about what Project Based Learning is. This is a great tool other than the textbook to get a complete grasp on the concept. Not only does it describe PBL as "a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge", but it also provides steps to follow when creating an engaging PBL assignment lesson plan. These steps include: Key Knowledge, Challenging Problem, Sustained Inquiry, Authenticity, Student Voice & Choice, Reflection, Critique & Revision, and Public Product. Following this list of steps and making sure the lesson plan provides all of these points will make for an engaging class. Another component this website contains is a blog for educators to post about the Project Based lessons they implemented in the classroom. I believe sharing ideas with other teachers is one of the most helpful ways to improve your own teaching because you receive feedback and encouragement to what you are doing well, and what can be changed for the benefit of the class.

This website is a great example of how a class website can be used to keep parents up to date and informed about what is going on in the classroom. It includes things like dates, school supply needs, and homework.

As web companies strive to tailor their services (including news and search results) to our personal tastes, there's a dangerous unintended consequence: We get trapped in a "filter bubble" and don't get exposed to information that could challenge or broaden our worldview. Eli Pariser argues powerfully that this will ultimately prove to be bad for us and bad for democracy. Our filter bubble causes Google and other search engines to limit our searches by personalizing them. Personalized filters look at what you click on first which will throw off the balance of the information you receive. This filter bubble is important to understand so you know when search engines are personlizing your searches so that you can learn how to balance your searches.
